Though the definition looks simple it has created a drastic change in the shopping world. It is definitely a welcome change with a few negative effects in developing and underdeveloped nations. With the introduction of e-commerce, shopping has become so simple that just by a click in a computer or mobile we are purchasing various items starting from basic households to luxury items like jewellery etc. In the macroeconomic view, it is definitely going to boost our GDP. On the other hand, if we view micro economically, it is posing few challenges to small scale and medium scale traders. In recent times, movement of people towards petty shops and grocery shops reduces gradually and by the time passes it will reduce further. If we think in a broad manner, India is still a developing nation and there are millions of small scale and medium scale traders. What will happen to their income if this technology further infuses into us?. It is going to have serious blow on those traders. Government of India has also allowed 100percent foreign direct investment in e-commerce sector. It is just a step towards increasing our GDP which itself is not enough for overall development of a nation. At this juncture it is essential for the government to think about macroeconomic effects of e-commerce. Conclusion : These are some of the ethical problems of the e-commerce and it is the responsibility of the government to develop our nation economically as well as taking care of the livelihood of small and medium scale traders by taking some measures .
