So, everyone is worried for cut off marks and here I'm worried for the job designation of JUNIOR ASSOCIATE (SALES) .since the day I've saw the advertisement I was wondering what I will do if I get selected. Well one of my friend's father is working in SBI and he answered all of my questions (no he don't know anything about cut off so don't ask).
Sbi is constantly working on reaching all parts of the country and selling its products to compete with the private banks. When it comes about icici and kotak mahindra most of their profits come from cross selling mostly insurance and other financial products. But Sbi makes most of profits from loan disbursement and capital market activities like underwriting and iPo management etc. Very recently they have launched their private wealth management business but icici and axis and other private banks have this in their business Broucher for a long time,way before Sbi.
So what you have to do when you get the job?
Well you have to do sales and yes there will be target. You heard me right, TARGET. You'll be given a area and you have to run campaigns on behalf of the bank branch...like you have to visit the ultra small branches and kiosk branches and advertise financial products (insurance,mutual funds,ppf etc) cause Sbi has a very high CASA ratio compared to other banks. Millions of rupees in savings account and current account but rural people don't know how to invest it in various financial products and Sbi has taken decision to mobilize these funds. So you have to visit this areas and let people know about this products and you have to SELL it to them. You don't have any fixed branch , you will be given territory (n that's why it was written in the advertisement "extensive outdoor traveling and workig in shifts)....you have to handle business correspondents and make sure they meet their sales target and you have to sale too. You have to provide after sales support and have to make calls , a lot of calls. Also there will be providing support to high value customers (yes also you have to convince them to buy insurance product or investing in mutual funds ,like other private banks).
So that's it now im sure you can have a clear idea about the job designation.thanks.
