People getting confused in voltage drop question must first try to understand what voltage drop really is. Here I am adding an image for clarification voltage drop is across elements and is not to be confused with voltage rise across the source . And voltage drops across elements in a closed loop will always be equal to applied voltage of the source . Zero is algebraic sum of all voltages in a loop (voltage drop +voltage rise of source ) This is also the KVL. Hope people get this
