To every Indian, India is like a memoir that is still incomplete. Everybody has their own version of history, politics and social interpretation but tolerance and brotherhood unites us. These extraordinary moments make India what it is today.So time for some interesting facts about our republic day.
1. Republic Day celebration actually lasts for three days! The Beating Retreat is held at the end of the day marking the end of Republic Day.
2. There are just two original copies of the Constitution in the country written in Hindi and English. They have been preserved in helium-filled cases in the Parliament of India. This constitution has been calligraphed and not printed. Such photo lithographic copies are in circulation and only 1000 copies have been written till date.
3. The President addresses the Republic Day whereas; the Prime Minister addresses the Independence Day.
4. Our Constitution is the longest in the world. You definitely cannot read it in a single day.
5. Now, writing the constitution was not simple. The Assembly gathered for 166 days that was spread over two years, 11 months and 18 days before the final version was formed. Yes, it was all hand-written and it was on the 26th of January that marked the celebration of Independence in its true sense.
6. The Constitution came into a legal circulation at 10:18 AM on the 26th of January, 1950.
7. During The Beating Retreat, 'Abide by Me' is the song that is played to mark the end of the ceremony.

Watched the republic day parade, awesome display of rich Indian cultural heritage and multi facet face of India. Wish all of us understand that this is the key of Indian success. We need diversity. Wish the weather was good, we could have seen more air displays...did not know why the other states were missing.Unless you see there , you will not understand the diversity of india. Great job for last 66 years of being together and prospering. the women contingent was a master stroke..Wish all the luck for future.

A cruise ship met with an incident at sea, on the ship was a pair of couple, after having made their way to the lifeboat, they realized that there was only space for one person left. At this moment, the man pushed the woman behind him and jumped onto the lifeboat himself. The teacher knows that the student has understood the moral of the story, that of the good and the evil in the world, there are many complications behind them which are hard to understand. Which is why we should never only focus on the surface and judge others without understanding them first.
