Writing here for the first time. Sorry if it's not good enough. Wrote this for Labour Day.
In the morning I wake up. With dreams in my eyes.
Far away from home. In a tent.
I have to go to work. A hard job I have to do.
In the scorching sun. I carry cement bags. Multiple times a day.
My back aches. But I am building a house. I must give my best.
In the noon I go to eat. My shirt drenched in sweat.
Far away from home.
Off to work I go again. The big house is almost built.
A house I’ll never enter. But my sweat will always be in it.
In the evening I come back to the tent. With money enough to have dinner.
But I must send money back home. Lunch also becomes my dinner.
In the night I go to sleep. With tears in my eyes.
Far away from home. In a tent.
