Amidst the faint candle light, I remember her seeing her the last time. It was as if things were moving in slow motion.
I remember her eyes, penetrating through her messy hair, and playing there was a guitar tune. It was her 21st birthday and I was just another guest on the list. She was wearing all white, and her lip had a hint of red. Eating my piece of cake alone at the cornor of the party room was definitely not fun. But I knew, I am not going to be on her next birthday party, since that was the last year of our college. Lost in the crowd, I even didn't know if she noticed me at all. All her friends were gifting her expensive things, and there I was, not a penny in pocket, no fancy gifts. I just had a piece of wrinkled paper, on which lying were a few words I carved out for her.
"Hey what is it?!" she exclaimed receiving my gift. 'Just a few words I scribbled down' I said.
She looked at it, looked at me.. and smiled. The flickering candles were peacefully getting reflected on her face. I somehnow knew, I was going to remember this moment for long. And I did. Even 7 years later, here I am writing about that isolated incidence, without her having a clue. I am just another guy out of the crowd for her, I know. But few moments freeze in your mind. That was one of them.
