On 7th June 1893, 123 years back, when Mahatma Gandhi was on his way to Pretoria from Durban he was offloaded (or better say 'thrown out') from the train at Pietermaritzburg station on account of being a dark-skinned man. On that very day he resolved to fight against apartheid and became an anti-apartheid icon in this fight against racial discrimination.
And we in India are still busy looking for an effective fairness cream (for men (with tagline 'Mardon Waali Fairness Cream LOL :P) and women alike) and when it comes to our big fat Indian wedding 'Fair Brides' are still the most coveted ones.
