What books are you guys following for ESI and Finance Management?
Any review friends on the below book :
Those who attepmted the RBI Grade B last year...pls tell me why there was a sudden drop in the cutoffs as compared to previous year..from 126 to 104..was it too difficult..is RBI Grade B phase 1 exam more difficult than SBI PO mains and IBPS PO mains?..if it is like this yr ibps then scoring 104 would be difficult to score.. 😞
I would suggest all my friends here to study the latest edition of Ncerts (class 11 and 12),because I dont think any other elaborate socio book will be reqd for mcq type exam.but along with this do prepare the latest current events related to socio, census 2011.infact there are two chapters at the end of R Singh's economy book which deal with social analysis, human development etc.Read these two chapters thoroughly .I have a gut feeling that many mcqs in socio might be asked from the topics covered in these two chapters of R singh.- All the best
Puys..I hv prepared for RRB n IBPS so I m well versed with current affairs n know how to tackle it but pls tell me how to prepare for the rest part of GA which has a different syllabus..pls share the strategy for the same?
As of now I am giving a concise strategy to cover up the whole syllabus ,since time is very short.
In tier 1 I am covering the two capsules of bankrs adda(general awareness and financial awareness capsule) thoroughly.I will not read anything else for t1 gk,even if Raghuram Rajan himself tells me to do so :-P PG is not allowing bankrs adda links to be shared, hence if u need the links just DM me,I will respond.I had bought a book for ibps po by Kiran Prakashan in the past.this book covers reasoning in just 40 pages.I will glance only through this thing,as the theory is given nicely with some worked out examples.because once u understand the concepts of reasoning, much practice isnt reqd.infact practising reasoning might be a time killer to be frank,if you have already grabbed the concepts.I do not take any separate prep for english, for maths I will just glance through the important formulas day before t1 exam. This will be my t1 strategy.Mould T1 preparation according to your liking and requirement.t1 is only for qualifying.on the day of exam, complete the whole gk section within 20 minutes.after that move on to english. Thus u have secured 120 marks within 45 to 50 minutes.dedicate the last 1 hour to reasoning and maths in any order.cover 50% of reasoning and move on to maths(or vice versa),then cover 50% of maths.after that if time remains, try to cover extra 10% of both reasoning and maths.50% initial coverage is mainly to clear the group cutoff(I hope it will remain below 50% in all groups like it had been in the past)
In eco if u check the syllabus u will find that almost the whole of syllabus is covered in R Singh chapterwise.mark out the parts of the book which match the syllabus(ask me in case u have difficulty finding out any topic,I will try to help).for socio I think rather than chasing any thick socio book, chapter 20(preparing for the demographic dividend) and chapter 21(Human Development in India) from R singh will serve u more(though it is just my speculation).dont read thick socio books, just buy the two ncerts of socio of class 11 and 12.Apart from this ,u can read this book on Socio by R Ahuja, this one is updated till 2013 :

IGNOU study materials for socio will also be good but read selectively according to syllabus.Dont miss chapter 22(economic concepts and terminologies),eco survey, railway budget, union budget, census from R Singh.dont miss these for God's sake
Forgot to include paper 1 (phase 2) strategy. For essay writing read any good upsc essay book which is updated. And for other topics ,there is a book by SP Bakshi which caters to descriptive english writing.U can use this book or any other book for subjective competitive english.it is not that u have to follow rigidly whatever I am recommending,u can modify or edit the plan I am writing here according to your choice and taste. In case I am missing out any good resource or point ,do not forget to share it on this thread,it will help us all.

For essay writing u can read this book(link below). However there are many good essay books in the market, following any one of them will do
(For those who are reading Ramesh Singh as their primary book) It is best if u can manage to read R singh from start to end.but in case u feel u cant cover it,I am giving the chapter list according to syllabus.(7th ed of Ramesh Singh)
Economics paper 2 : chapters 1,2,4,5,6,9,10,15,16,18,19
Social issues paper 2 : two chapters of R singh are important for this part, they are chapters 20 and 21.
Finance paper 3 :chapters 7,11,12,13,14,17,18
Dont skip the last part of Ramesh Singh ,ie,chapter 22(economic concepts and terminologies),chapter 23(selected mcqs),chapter 24(model answer to selected questions),economic survey, railway budget, union budget and census 2011.Infact I think a major share of eco mcqs will come from these parts.
So reading the entire R singh will cover a large part of finance also along with eco. However if u are taking finance prep from separate materials or book, then u need not read the chapters of R singh which I have mentioned for finance.
Keep the preparation strategy simple and to the point according to the syllabus.and a final note,if u can manage time,do glance through the "Indian Economy" special edition of Pratiyogita Darpan. It might be an overkill for the current mcq pattern of exam, hence if u cant manage time to check it,dont feel disheartened at all.Wish u all the best for your life ahead as an RBI officer :-)
Ibps po dene ke baad.....

I am a btech graduate and opted economics for paper 3 in rbi grade b.please suggest me best books
Guys how useful is Indian economy by Ramesh Singh for this exam?
Around 55 out of 80 GA questions are expected from Economics . What kind of questions will be expected ? ( Apart from Static Eco , ofcourse )
Pick any Ibps conducted exam. 80 questions of RBI gk will resemble just that. The bubble that 50-60 questions will be from eco will burst on the D-day for 1st time exam takers.
Guys anyone pls explain.....what is market stabilisation scheme?
Preferred Exam on 22nd November ?
