Conversation with a friend in RBI reveals that the exercise of Departmentalisation seems to be put on the backburner as RBI is going through some tough times. It seems that the exam of Gr B may retain its old form. In that case my hunch is that the notification should be round the corner. May be next week.

I have a query related to the GS portion.
I am not in touch with the newspapers for a long time and i read over here that GKTODAY (Dot) IN and BANKERSADDA are good sites for the current affairs,
I just downloaded the monthly pdf for the month of April, 2015 from these sites....Gktoday monthly pdf have around 120 pages and its also quite elaborate but they seems to go deep into a topic (may be from UPSC point of view) .....
FOR EXAMPLE MAIN NEWS would be "Sachin Tendulkar inducted into Laureus Sports Academy "....so current affairs talks abt achievements of Sachin Tendulkar in brief......and also what is Laureus Sports Academy
So my Qstn is - Whether for RBI Grade B officer, do we need to study the current affairs in such a detail OR we just need to know the Main Headlines.
I think ppl here will be more relaxed if RBI comes with some kind oc clarification on the syllabus thing as business standard has created anxiety among the fellow aspirants
but again government institution it would be a MIRACLE if they do this they just love to give tension to the aspirants 😁 😁
so in short instead of getting anxious for the notification and date better we focus on what we have in our hand as they just don't give a **** about us 😁 😛 😁

Yes they are planning to REVAMP the entire process of Grade b recruitment this year (this yr would be a pilot one) if it works they will continue else revert to the old system. New in the sense , common exam for all the categories of grade b (economics, statistics, general etc)
Phase I: It would remain the same and common for all the categories.
Phase II: main (two papers), 1 elective(again didnt elaborate on the this) and one essay paper for 50 marks (he jus said that way I presume it to be English paper)
The mains exam will be held on the same day- one in the morning and the other in afternoon. They are trying their best to complete the recruitment process within three months(max).
One more remarkable aspect is that - going forward the induction period for grade b's would be ONE year against (some 2-3 months not quite sure of present one). Irrespective of your academic background you will be trained rather familiarized on all the functions of RBI "you will be equipped with all the skills a central banker should ideally possess"
I know I know wondering about the tentative date of notification???, guys you should pardon me for this coz he said it will be in November (unsure if he was referring to mains or notification, thought of clarifying it however he switched on to another query ), big man can't stress on single subject for long , so enquired with colleagues sittng a lil closer to him, they said that it was notification which he was referring to, (I will get back to you on this anyway).
Any colleagues from other ROs i.e 2012 batch- guys he jus dropped a bomb , the promotion exam would be in MARCH, yes MARCH 2016 hardly months to go, damn worried now, any inputs from other colleagues would be appreciated
