Wot happened was in 2011 -2012 RBI went into overdrive as far as grade b recruitment was concerned. Recruitment was done twice within a period of one year, so may be this time they come out with the notification early nxt yr or unfortunately in sept nxt yr.

Bro..this is a misconception..what matters is when the new trainees joined the Org..the Feb 2011 Exam guys had their training in Jan 2012 ..and the Dec 18, 2011 guys have their training in Jan 2013..so that ways it is not as if two batches joined the organisation in the same year..

(i) RBI Assistant Pay Scale: Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ` 8,860/- per month (i.e. ` 8,040/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates only) in the scale of ` 8,040 – 410 – 9270 – 500 – 11,270 – 550 – 13,470 – 650 – 15,420 – 720 – 16,140 – 990 – 20,100 (20 years) and other allowances, viz. Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Assistants is approximately ` 19,340/-

Grade A is the starting grade in the RBI officer cadre, am not sure about the promotion policy for Assistant to Grd A but it takes a lot of time may be more than 10-15 yrs .

@kdas12aug ummm saw most of the assistants being promoted to grade A almost near the fag end of their career, anyway I think the query was about time bound promotion. Otherwise it would be Assistant to grade B in around 1 year through External Exam.
