Hi guys, we all have seen quora answers glorifying RBI job, mostly by those retired RBI officers who are also now working with coaching institutes(so we should them with a pinch of salt). Today While browsing quora, I came across a profile of a retired RBI officer who was very critical of RBI job nature. He says that everyone in RBI does only clerical work except those who are at the very top and altogether paints a completely different picture. He is critical only about the nature of the job, not the salary or perks. In short, he says the work makes you dumb and you won't grow intellectually, and he seems legit.
I'll quote some of his answers:
////" Usually, in RBI , the nature of job is such that there is no late sitting. Even the senior officers need not sit late. However, some of the senior officers like Chief General Managers sit late and return home late more to impress their innocent wife. RBI officers , senior or middle management or junior management are all over paid for the work they do. There are no targets to be acheived , neither is the job challenging for a young mind. Its a cool , cushy job . However, the job makes you lazy and deficient of skills over a period. Being unskilled, an RBI officer cannot leave RBI and look for other jobs. A commercial banker can quit one bank and join another. RBI is a Central Bank, and there is only one Central Bank in a country. Hence, once you join RBI and stay for say, 8 to 10 years, you cannot leave and join another bank or institution. You become almost mentally challenged if you spend more years in RBI.
So friend, if you want leisure and all pleasure, join RBI , if you get an offer. But if you want to grow mentally and become more useful to the country , forget about RBI job."//////

What are your views on this?
My argument against this is: In this age and time when unemployment is all time high, RBI provides job security, decent pay and perks and social respect. Not all of us are lucky enough to work in MNCs, travel the world, emmigrate to a rich country, get adrenaline pumping jobs, or jobs where you can have unlimited intellectual masturbations. Yes you may become intellectually handicaped doing clerical work but as the saying goes, "beggars can't be choosers", it is better than having no job. Life in general sucks and is very unfair and the best thing we can do is to make sure we atleast have the basic necessaties covered and RBI does a great job of that. You can't eat the cake and have it too.
So his POV applies only to people who have the opportunity to go big but are wanting to go home, not jobless people like us

Last time, RBI assistant notification appeared on 18th Octorber and prelims was conducted on 27th November, there was a 38-days gap between them. So if the exam is to be conducted on 4th Dec, they would have published the notification by 27th Oct but that didn't happen.
Let's discount some days by assuming that the delay is being caused by the election or the festival. So at any cost, the notification should come tomorrow if the 4th Dec theory has any truth in it. If that doesn't happen, we would be able to safely believe that nobody(maybe not even RBI) has any ....ing clue about when the recruitment process will begin.

now sushil ragade is saying 14 and 21 december are booked for rbi assistant pre exam , earlier also he predicted a date then said rbi cancelled those dates now saying 4 th december is also cancelled and 14 and 21 are booked . 4 th december was completely hoax because RBI would have never taken an exam on weekdays that is for sure .
