Some people msgd me asking salary perks etc so i thought of posting it directly here.
CURRENT Gross Pay exluding HRA, i.e. if availed accommodation =
42000 Gross - in hand 35500 approx. Add 15% of current basic if accomodation not availed.
- revised every quarter as per CPI i.e. Dearness allowance, which currently is 64.5% of basic.
(note that i joined in 2017, got one increment after completing one year in RBI, one increment after clearing JAIIB and two increments after clearing CAIIB, current basic stands at Rs. 18100, will get one more increment in August 2019, for new recruits basic would be lesser).
2. Monthly Allowances
Petrol 55 litres Rs. 4200 approx, mumbai 10 lts extra
Cleaning allowance Rs. 1000
Newspaper & Internet Rs. 1455
Child education allowance Rs 4200 per child upto two children i.e. max Rs. 8400 (once child joins school)
3. Quarterly allowances
Sodexo Card recharges Rs. 7800 (can be used in zomato, swggy bigbasket big bazar etc)
4. Annual allowance
Rs. 11250 (briefcase, book & one more)
Vehicle Insurance allowance with zero depreciation cover upto 10 years
5. Biennial allowance
Spectacle allowance upto Rs. 4500 + 4500 self and spouse (PLEASE NOT THAT THIS IS THE ONLY ALLOWANCE WHERE BILL IS REQUIRED)
LFC Rs. 13000 per head, max Rs. 52000 if 3 dependents.
Furniture maintainace allowance : Rs. 6000 approx (can't recall the exact amount)
6. Once in every 5 years
Furniture allowance Rs. 60000

Halting allowance RS. 1600 per day in major cities, 1400 in others , paid during training, tour, sports meet etc.
Holiday homes and hotels all over the country, charges Rs. 50 per day
Can sit for Gr A exam after 3 years (Gr A salary is more than double of what assistants get) Rs. 1.80 lakh transfer allowance etc. (transfer compulsory on promotion, can get choice posting if among top three rankers)
Except Mumbai success rate in Gr A exam in first attempt is 60-70%.
Co-incidently, in my RO, in the dept. in which i am posted, the success rate in Gr A exam is 100% till now :D
Salaries will increase about 14-16% with effect from NOV 2017, threrefore this may not reflect the actual salary, once the settlement is over (maybe mid 2020) the difference will be paid (arrears).
There are more allowances and perks but i cannot recall them all, sorry for that.
About new recruitment, i can confirm that recruitment of assistants will be done in 2019.
Not even top officers of RBI have any idea about the date of examinations or date of release of notification. If anyone is spreading rumors regarding the same, he/she is lying.

RBI Assistant Current Salary
Monthly perquisite allowances of an assistant for May 2019.
Some of the perks payable to Class-III employees have been revised recently. The revised perks are payable from June/July. The latest information are as below :
Purchasing Power Parity (PPP)
It states that the exchange rate of a currency with another (currency) is in equilibrium when their domestic purchasing power are equivalent at that exchange rate.
It means that a good should cost same in India and USA after considering the exchange rate of Indian Rupee (INR) and US Dollar (USD).
Suppose, the current exchange rate of Indian rupee to US Dollar is Rs. 60 perUSD (i.e., 1 USD = Rs. 60). Now suppose a laptop costs Rs. 60,000 in India.
According to the PPP theory, the laptop should cost USD (60,000 / 60) = USD 1,000 (considering the current exchange rate of these two currencies) to maintain parity in purchasing power of these two currencies.
But, it may happen that the actual market price of the laptop in USA is USD 800 (say) (equivalent to Rs. 48,000 in India). Therefore, there is an advantage of buying the laptop in USA at much less price than India (Rs. 12,000 less) (it means that the purchasing power is not in parity between these two currencies)
Indian consumers will go to the exchange office and sell their INR and buy USD, and then buy the laptop from USA. It will cause the Indian currency less valuablethan the US dollar.
The demand of laptop sold in India will decrease (since high price), and the priceof laptop will go down. In contrast, the demand of laptop in USA will increase, and the price will rise accordingly.
These factors will cause the exchange rate (of the currencies) and the prices (of laptops) to change such that there is purchasing power parity in both the currencies.
PPP theory tells us that the price differences between countries are not sustainable in the long run, as market forces will equalize prices between the countries and change the exchange rates accordingly.
(Relate the above example with companies that can buy goods in much less price from foreign countries and sell in much less price in India than its counterparts. For this reason, there are several laws or restrictions on imports and a provision of levying customs duty, etc.)
Will there be any reserved list for RBI assistant??
Few months back court gave verdict. Few weeks back anil agarwal said notification will be released soon. By the way he said it, I thought it might be released very next day.. He was so much excited about that.. But where the hell is notification ! Waiting for notification just like a farmer waiting for monsoon. No hope.. What's going on ? What's holding them to release notification ? Still how many months do they require ?
