Even I was called for the third interview! Seems weird to me.. they said that this is a random bunch of ppl selected for the third round but then one senior said that these people are being seen by the Dean to assess the kind of students applying this year. Seems Hogwash to me! Why would a Dean waste time on such analysis!
What do you guys think?
Hogwash it is.. The only purpose I see is to make sure about these candidates and get a second opinion. Most likely the candidates called for third interview will get selected by a much larger probability.
Lets see! I can only hope! I think the last interview was more focussed on why MBA and Why SIMS... When are the results coming out? Ne clue?

Well, in my opinion the Directors interview was for those recommended by the GD/PI-1/PI-2 panelists, so that he could interact to gauge the aspirants perception for SIMS, and could see the quality of perspective SIMS students looking forward to take admission this year.
So those who missed no need to panic
Coz:
1. Had it been about selection/rejection (as I found in earlier posts), he should have interviewed at least 100 students/day (300 being the seats, 4 days process) but thats not the case. Since the call conversion ratio of SIMS is very low (1:2), hence more than half of those who appeared in GD/PI process should have been interviewed. But again that was not the case, since only 1 or 2 from each group were called for Directors interview.
I was among the lucky ones to be interviewed by the Director. Since my schedule was tight on that day (I had SIMS at 7:45 am & SCMHRD at 11:45 am). Hence i ran away as soon as I finished my GD/PI-1/PI-2, and to come later in the evening for Director Interview.
About the interview:
As described in the first few lines, the interview session was really an interactive one, and was about Admission process, short listing process, selection processfeedbacks, suggestions, improvements& comparisons of all these processes (along with other parameters of SIMS like infra, campus etc.) with SCMHRD.
I guess probably he might have seen my PG posts on SIMS threads, how I messed up SIMS with the loopholes ;-P
Also it was to check the requisite skill set of candidates.
For eg, since I have an exp. Of Core Marketing (Market Research, Product Management, Sales, Business Development etc), I was surprised when he gave me a task to convince them to buy DAIKIN Air conditioners (where Im working right now):-p
It was totally different unlike my PI-1 (which ppls have described it as MTV Roadies kinda interview) .(yar ye coat to bada achcha hai, kahan se liya kiraye pe, kitna kiraya hai.bata kiski sifarish le ke aya hai SIMS me admission ke liye..yar tujhse kya pucche, tu sab kuch to paddh ke aya hoga, achchi tayyari kar ke aya hoga.bata is saal ki koi aisi ghatna jisme lage ki array ye kya ho gayaI replied my so good SNAP score, array, ye kya ho gaya..;-parray tu to engineer hai, wo bhi itne achche college se. naukari bhi kar raha hai. Array kya karega MBA karke, acchi naukari kar to raha haimaine kaha, sir Operations me MBA karna hai growth ke liye..array yar operations to hai hi nahi yahan..khali Marketing, finance, HR hai:-p..also since they knew ki Ive to rush for SCMHRD gd/pi..they grilled meyar tera wahan ho hi jana hai, kyun time kharab kar raha haimujhse likhwa ke le le ki tu SIMS me nahi anew alachal tujhe wahin milta hu me.me scmhrd ke panel me bhi hu, wahan dekhta hu tujhe..;-P
Finally to sum up, I really enjoyed the whole process of SIMS
Also, I was fortunate to be interviewed by SCMHRDS director, which I came to know only when he asked me , if I have some questionsI grinned..sir, r u from industry or faculty(since he was trying to grill me on every aspect).i was surprised (or rather shocked, but hid this feeling)..when he replied in a firm voice Im the director of this institute
Thankfuly I immediately engaged him with few good questions..
TIP 1: whenever youre asked, if you have some questionsnever say NO, always prepare beforehand to ask some logical questions.
TIP 2: You should always have some good examples of your strengths & weakness (only the one that can be improved).

The chances are the same like us who gave it earlier 😃 . Give it ur best shot.
Eagerly waiting for the final selection list.Just hope that it is not delayed too much due to the 2nd gd/pi schedule.What will be the procedure after you are selected. I read somewhere that they will mail an information booklet to everyone selected.
can any one throw some light on the hostel accommodation. I heard that since places are limited hence a place is not guaranteed. So how early do we have to apply to get a place. Also if you can elaborate on what facilities we have in the hostel and any specific rules and regualtions?

I was selected in the suplementary list and my GA is on 1 March.... how do i go abt preparing for GA... what r we expected to do.. do we have case studies where we need to come up with the best possible solution... plz help me out.... and the interviews... what kind of questions can i expect..
i got a low score of 51.25... good acads and extra- curricular activities with 1 yr exp in IT industry...

All i can tell u is that according to me everything was extremely chilled out! The interviews induced huge smiles on each n every applicant i saw goin in n coming out. It was the same with me i must say. All u gotta be is confident about urself. Too much research is not needed. Just know wat u wanna be n do. Know it well. Editorials are still a must tho.
Apart from that , the GD , we had a case study on ' slumdog millionaire' . 1 article n 3 questions. Make sure u can form ur own opinion and present 3 to 4 points of ur own.
This is as much as i can tell u. Im sure u already knew all this. Best of luck !.

I had this on 6 feb.
It had one Group Activity .It was like a GD and Topic was a business ethics case study.So guys chill out no fears for a philosophical /absurd GD topic.
Other than that there were two I/V.
Pannalists were very calm and cool in both I/V,No stress I/V.Main focus was Why MBA and How Does MBA fit into your career goal.You should have a covincing answer for it.
Other questions standard hobbies,intrests,busines scenario,Satyam,etc.
Over all a good experience.
IF you are to face third interview then you have to wait for some time yaar.by the time i went out it was alredy past 8pm.

Means if some body get's selected in SIOM , and later on came to know that he/she got SIMS as well....
can't these institutes co-ordinate their result dates.
or do they enjoy troubling students running to get their admission cancelled (wait for refund check), and then rush to different institute???
or is it all about making money (dedution of 1000 Rs /cancellations)??

coz earlier the SIOM & SIMS results were expected to come on SAME DATE...
what happened with SIMS now??? tired?? why so delay???
