My advice
GO FOR IRMA if u are also interested in RM
talk with some seniors they will tell you that many banks also come to IRMA for placements and

prefer NIBM if u really wanna end up in banking sector ...

I had converted IRMA and paid the first term installment as well . However, I am not joining it any more. So w/l moves by 1 :)

Another thing, could any senior please throw light on how to get the first term installment refunded.

windows7 basic, premium, professional or ultimate.
Seniors pls give out some info..

  1. Do we have to connect our laptops to a domain there at IRMA?.
  2. Which other software(original ... haha) do we require at IRMA.?
  3. Are google, gmail, facebook, skype blocked at IRMA?
  4. Are we allowed to wear 3/4 and burmudaas in the campus or do we need to be in full lowers inside the campus.
  5. Do we need to carry laptop frequently (to buy a laptop bag)
  6. Ragging ...
  7. Some light on dress code at IRMA will be helpful.(jeans, T-shirts, formals, blazers)

Hi,
1. yup.they have a elaborate procedure. Is usually done when the first term begins.(atleast tht was the case with my batch)
2.Microsoft Office is required as most of the time you would be spending time writing reports, making ppts or working on spreadsheets. Although SPSS is also used,most of ur seniors would have it and would pass it onto u for installation.
3.Nothing is blocked :)
4.Its a residential campus. So no compulsions on what you wear. But when one goes to the classroom complex, it is better to wear trousers, jeans, etc and not shorts. Same is the case for the library.
5.Laptops are not required for classroom sessions. Some courses might require you to take it along for a session or two. But unlike other B schools, laptops are not required in classrooms.
6.Depends on the block. But strictly speaking, NO ragging happens.
7.A pair of jeans and a couple of t shirts will suffice. :)

Taking the liberty of assuming that your question was directed at me?
I am not sure that where I am going should be a deciding factor of where you will end up in the next two years 😃 And I will be limiting your decision making ability if I tell you where I am going.

IRMA is my alma mater. So it is of people who are heading USD2 billion organisations, have made such contributions that there are Harvard cases on them, made lives better of many people!

It is a top notch academic institute. Alas, not a placement agency 😃

hello... im completely new here... i'm appearing for the irma 2011 written being conducted on 13 dis month.. can u please tell me about the number of applicants and the number which clears written test.. and the difficulty level of the sections please.. it would be a great deal if u cud help...

don't bother yourself with the extra data! its best to compete with yourself!
the sections are not difficult: quant and di is relatively easy
just make sure you are prepared with the issues of social concern section, lots of consolidated data is available here on pagalguy and on the net...its a great section to score marks without wasting a lot of time...
also if possible try to solve previous year questions if available...last year exam had a lot of questions from the 2006 paper...even the values and options were the same!
