With an average speed of 40 km/h, a train reaches its destination in time. If it goes with an average speed of 35 km/h , it is late by 15 min. What is the length of total journey?
Ok, I need to ask this question as every other CAT aspirant would do.
The most important part of CAT preparation is deemed as practice. However, I find that practice involves getting accustomed to new and different types of questions that could be asked. One thing that has always boggled me is that how do you tackle unknown question types in CAT? I mean every time I look up a new question type during my practice and try to solve it, I end up taking too much time and also find it very difficult to solve such new question types on my own. I revise my concepts but every time I keep getting stuck in new and unknown question types. It makes me think maybe others have some intelligence that I may not possess hence they are able to perform better than me.
My point is that suppose I practice 100 question types of a particular chapter till CAT, there could still be a 101st type of question set which I know I'll not be able to solve. But I feel that those who ace CAT would be attempting this 101st type of question even though they may not have seen it anywhere or practised it.
In that case, how do I make sure that I get used to thinking scientifically quickly? CAT has 1000s of types of questions and it is not possible to solve every question type for every CAT pattern. There has to be some catch which I am missing !!!
