In a class, 25%of students were absent for an exam. 30% failed by 20 marks and 10% passed because of grace marks of 5. Find the average score of the class if the remaining student scored an average of 60 marks and the passing marks are 33(counting the final scores of the candidates.)

even i thought the same thing.. as none of the options had the value in 20's
Therefore,
--> (X + (X * 12 *1)/100) + (X + (X * 12 *2)/100) + X = 1092
--> (28X/25) + (31X/25) + X = 1092
--> (28X +31X + 25X) = (1092 * 25)
--> 84x = 1092 * 25
So, X = (1092*25)/84
X = 27300/84
X = 325 rupees
In an examination, 48% students failed in Hindi and 32% in History,20%failed in both the exams, if number of students who passed the examination was 880, how many students appeared in the examination, if the examination consisted only of these two subjects.

Taking the total as T=100 .. Using Venn Diagram we can say that 60% students failed in examination with 20 in both, 28 in Hindi and 12 in History=Total of 60 . Therefore, 880 is 40% of 2200 which is the answer. :)
@rahulj_j44 said: what annual installment will discharge a debt of Rs 1092 due in 3 years at 12%SI?The given solution is :Each installment = X rupeesTherefore, --> (X + (X * 12 *1)/100) + (X + (X * 12 *2)/100) + X = 1092 --> (28X/25) + (31X/25) + X = 1092 --> (28X +31X + 25X) = (1092 * 25) --> 84x = 1092 * 25 So, X = (1092*25)/84 X = 27300/84 X = 325 rupeesThe first equation? how did that come? why dont we have (X*12*3)/12 TERM IN THE equation.Please help me.
There is one direct Formula which we can use to solve these kind of Questions.
It is :- Annual Installment= (100 x Amount)/100T +(RT(T-1)/2)
Put the values of Amount, Time and Rate in the above formula and u'll get the Answer 😃 as 325.
