How many integer values of x and y are there such that 4x+7y=3, while |x|1. 144
2. 141
3. 143
4. 142
I solved and got 142... But the ans given in the book is 143.. Can anyone please solve this??

@Nil253259 said:Check with X ...take a valid value of x..can be 3/4 (y = 0 then)...Now 3/4 + (n-1).7Same for the other side: 3/4 + (n-1).(-7) > -500 Again 72 values....But we have taken 3/4 twice..so No of pairs 72+72-1 = 143..Isn't it?Am I missing something ???en multiple of
Since they mentioned it as integer values i have started with x as -1 na y as 1... now for every odd multiple of 7 we find an even multiple of 4 which is 3 more than the multiple of 7... we find 71 such values of x and 71 values of y.. so total 142..
In the solution which u gave ... can u please tell me how u deduced this equstion?? " 3/4 + (n-1).7

Answer is 15 days.
Approach : -
total work is done in 20 x 30 = 600 man days
You need to form a linear equation now.
Let the number of days twenty workers work together is x
From here equation goes like this : -
20x + (35-x)15 = 600
solving the above equation, you get x equal to 15.
