A boy took a seven digit number ending in 9 and raised it to an even power greater than 2000.He then took the number 17 and raised it to power which leaves the remainder 1 when divided by 4.If he now multiplies both the numbers,what will be the unit's digit of the number he so obtains?

i think answer would be 7.....
What is the correct answer???????

hey i am getting 4...?? is it so 9*32*153=4
9 the last digit of 7 digit number
it should be raised by 32... ( multiply by 32 to make it even more than 2000)
and 153( multiple of 17 when divided by 4 leave remainder 1 )

bhai i think answer will be 7 only...because
any even power of 9 will give last digit as 1.........for ex 81
then it is said 17^n where n=4N+1...this means it will have 7 as it's last digit
then 7*1=7 answer.....:):)

ohk the first part is correct...it will be 1 the even power but
for multiple of 17 that will give 1 remainder ..should be 4N+1...ohk
put N=0.. so if we raise the power to 2..the number would be 289...so again the answer would be 9

bhai look at the bold part

bhai it is saying power would be such that will give reminder 1 when divided by 4...so 17^1 is an valid case........
i Quit...:)

Last year I started in 1st week of March and finished LOD1 and LOD2 by mid June and thats the time when you'll have the AIMCATS starting. So, that should be your target.

9^even= unit digit will be always 1. (9^2 =81, 9^4 =6561)
which leaves the remainder 1 when divided by => can be 1,5...
7^1 = unit digit =>7
so 7*1 =7 my take
100 million bacteria can completely decompose a garbage dump in 15 days and 60 million bacteria can do so in 30 days.If same quantity of garbage is added to the initial quantity of the dump everyday,how many bacteria will be required to completely decompose the dump in 10 days?
a)150mn
b)180mn
c)140mn
d)120mn
e)125mn
the qn. is nt much clear to me.kindly explain with a detailed sol.
100*15 =1500
60*30 =1800
So in 15 days, 300/15 =20 quantity of dump added.
x +20*15 = x+300 =1500
x+20*30 = x+600 =1800 so initial quantity =1200
1200+20*10 =1400
1400 /10 =140 million bacteria
@PS: Please confirm somebody.
9^even= unit digit will be always 1. (9^2 =81, 9^4 =6561)
which leaves the remainder 1 when divided by => can be 1,5...
7^1 = unit digit =>1
so 1*1 =1 my take
confirmed from the book answer of this question is 7
9^even= unit digit will be always 1. (9^2 =81, 9^4 =6561)

7^1 = unit digit =>1 // Shud be 7
so 1*1 =1 my take //Shud be 7*1 = 7
Check the colored part.
X-4 + Y-4 = 4 , then how many Integer values can (X,Y) have??
3)If we draw a graph, we get a right angle triangle with vertices (0,0),(0,4),(4,0)
Now the integer points which lies with in hte area of triangle are
(1,3)(3,1)
(2,2)
(0,4)(4,0)
the triangle won't be having sides till 4, check by using 8,4 as one of the values.
instead it will be a square having vertices (4,0) ,(8,4), (4,8 ), (0,4) and only those points lying on the boundary of the square will be there.
each side contains 4 points.
therefore total points =16.
correct me if there is something wrong in approach.
What is the sum of real values of x satisfying the equation
4 x 3^(2x+2)-9^2x=243 ?
What is the sum of real values of x satisfying the equation
4 x 3^(2x+2)-9^2x=243 ?
i am only getting 1 value...
where by putting X=1 LHS=RHS.....
what is the answer????????
i am only getting 1 value...
where by putting X=1 LHS=RHS.....
what is the answer????????
That's correct..!
What is the sum of real values of x satisfying the equation
4 x 3^(2x+2)-9^2x=243 ?
After stating RHS in standard form i.e. 243 = 3^5
It is clear that we need to make LHS equal to 3^5 which is possible only if x is substituted with 1.
4X3^(2x+2) - 9^(2x) = 243
LHS with x = 1
=4X3^4 - 9^2
=4X3^4 - 3^4
=3^5
