hello friends, I am MBA aspirant, i've decided to go for CAT'14, however I am an average student and i am weak in Maths from school time...so please guide me how to improve my maths and VA also, please.....

This question consists of a paragraph in which the first and last sentences are fixed and the

sentences in between are jumbled. Choose from among the options the most logical order of the

intermediate sentences.


I. We cross the threshold of one, and are accosted by a female who, speaking in musical

accents, invites us to sit down.


A. We are welcome in her humble cabin; but her dark, languishing eyes, so full of intensity,

watch us with irresistible suspicion.

B. She has none of Africa's blood in her veins; no! Her features are beautifully olive, and

the intonation of her voice discovers a different origin.

C. How reserved she seems, and yet how quickly she moves her graceful figure when she

places her right hand upon her finely-arched forehead, parts the heavy folds of glossy

hair that hang carelessly over her brown shoulders, and with a half-suppressed smile

answers our salutation.

D. Her figure is tall and well-formed; she has delicately-formed hands and feet, long,

tapering fingers, well-rounded limbs, and an oval face, shaded with melancholy.

Commonly confused Phrasal Verbs and their usage

(a) I was pleased by their reaction.

(b) Writing my speech was easy, but I was unsure if I could motivate the employees to donate to those affected by the earthquake.

(c) Instead of throwing out their unusable articles, they had transferred them to my office in the name of donations.

(d) When a reputed company invited me to deliver a lecture on Corporate Social Responsibility, I agreed.

(e) It was an affluent company and the well dressed employees who met me afterwards promised to send lots of donations to my office.

(f) What I saw however when I opened the bags of 'donations' they had sent shocked me.
