@sg001 Do not focus on essays and case studies. They are pretty simple and very general.

Jst get yourself prepared for the pannel interview. If thats done you are 90% done.

I have got a call for evaluation for the May 2013 intake. Could somebody please answer some of the questions I have.

SP Jain's website says that it was ranked amongst the top 100 b-schools in GMBA by FT. But that was in 2012. What about 2013 ranking? I can't find their name in the top 100.

Is it worth spending 20-25 lakhs for a one-year course? I know S P Jain is a good brand and salaries offered in Middle East and South-East Asia are good. But I am not really sure about the authenticity of such information.

Most of the information I have got about this program is from their own websites. Eeven other websites share info copied from SP Jain's website itself. Where can I find an unbiased reporting about this program, its credentials, placements, etc.

i dont know abt the placements. Is TOEFL/IELTS compulsary fr the prog?

Hey @rutty_bharucha I just read your message related to the interviews being conducted on this 24th for april intake..I have got a call letter for the interview probably profile based since the SPJAT results clearance mail was sent to me later..will a new date mentioning a new date of interview be sent now.??

As explained to you on the phone, since your experience was on the borderline of GMBA and MGB, only at the interview could we assess your suitability for the specialization and the programs and hence the panel advised you accordingly.

@sg001 Hello *,

First I start with Case study: Case Study totally depends on your specialization like IBWM, IT, GLSCM, CMM... You will be given one and half page (A4 size) scenario and you have to thoroughly understand about that case because you will have only 40 min to complete your answer. After you need to answer one question based on your case in a new A4 size page if you will finish this page you could ask for another.
Like for me (IBWM) it was related to fact given by Mr. Warren Edward Buffett about bubble burst (share market crash) and correlation with future market sustainment of investor. So it was totally dependent on knowledge about investment/Finance.

Secondly two Short Essays: In this section you will be given two topics about your general life in A4 size page but space for each question is limited may be you can write about 90-100 words for each and allotted time in 30 min for both essays. Question will be like on your leadership quality, your capability to work under pressure situations, strengths & weaknesses, on your any big achievement.

These all your analysis will be forwarded to your panel interview and interviewers will cross question about your thoughts in case study as well as about your essay. So please be clear / confident about your points and examples that you gave for the same. Sometimes interviewers may only ask about your knowledge on specialization that you have opted for your interview and they do not discuss about what you wrote in case study and essays.

Could you please answer my queries?

1. I have not given TOEFL/IELTS. What is the last date by which i can submit my score considering that i am applying for May 2013 intake for MGB program?
2. How many intakes does GMBA program have in an year? Currently i have 32 months of experience and i am thinking of applying for DEC 2013 intake of GMBA program, if there's any. Else i will have to apply for MGB program now.

Please reply asap.

Hi! 23rd March is fine but if you are getting a date after this its best to check if you are getting a date for Pearsons (PTE)

hi! Due to a recent regulatory development we have to discontinue the Consulting Management specialisation entirely (even in future).

hi! For GMBA we need the candidates to have a minimum of 3 years work exp, credit is also given to internships. For candidates wwith work exp. between 0-3 years we offer the MGB program. For MGB, pls find details on http://www.spjain.org/mgb/mgb_program.asp
If you already have a visa for Singapore, you can also try for the EMBA program.
