Hi guys,I am interested in the SP Jain Dubai/Singapore campus..Have a few queries :What is the minimum work-ex required for the program?How is the distribution done for the final selection i.e. scores , acads , work-ex etc..Whats a decent GMAT/SPJAT score to have a real good shot?My acads are not that great:Class 10 - 90.4Class 12 - 71.6B.E - 7.32Work -ex - 22 months (IT industry)
hi! For GMBA, we evaluate a potential candidate overall, on several factors. These are: good GMAT, CAT or SP Jain aptitude test scores, good academic record, relevant work experience (min. 3 years), exhibited leadership qualities, analytical abilities, communication skills and other personality traits. With 22 months of work exp, we would recommend you to apply for the MGB program, which is meant for candidates with work exp. between 0 to 3 years.

hey.... plz also let me know whether or not spjat has sectional cut off or just total cut off of minimum 75 percentile....
Hi! Yes, there are no sectional cut offs. Your total score needs to meet our cut off mark.
@saurav205 said:
Hi,Can someone tell me the total fee for the 16 month program??
Hi! The total fees is mentioned on http://www.spjain.org/mgb/fee_structure.asp
@eggy said:
@shixie As per my coaching institute, 95+ is overall cut off and 75 is the sectional cut-off and their calls are highly profile based, whether they say on Basis of CAT, but actually its profile based.Fingers crossed.ATB
Hi! Sorry, but we do not have sectional cut offs, we expect the overall score to meet our cut off mark.
@saurav205 said:
In addition to the fee structure I wanted to know if the IB & WM course will be relevant for M&A;??Also do the companies come on campus ? If yes , which campus? Which batch is the best to apply for..as in April/August/December ?? Am sure there will be some difference. Hoping for some seniors to come on this thread to clear the queries ....Thanks
Hi! recruiters will be coming down to all our campuses but that does not have anything to do with your placement. recuiters are made aware of the batch schedule before hand, so if it is cross campus then interviews are conducted over video conferencing.

@rutty_bharuchaHi RuttyI had applied for Nov 2012 batch and got through , but i had deferred my admission to the May 2013 batch. i just want to know if it is possible to change my specialization stream . I wish to change from CMM to GLSCM..
Hi! It is very unlikely we would consider a request for change in specialisation after an offer has been made and accepted. You can still try by sending a mail to [email protected]

Hi! Yes, we suggest that you apply for the August 2013 intake, there will fresh rounds of the aptitude test for that intake as well. We normally have 2-3 rounds of the test for each intake.

93.90 percentile in CAT. Please inform me till when will this score be valid and i just started my job, so can I apply for the December 2013 intake so that I can have a substantial experience before I start with the course.
Hi! CAT scores are valid for 2 years. So if this score is of CAT 2012, then yes it will remain valid for Dec 2013 intake.

Hey Rutty,Can you please throw some light on evaluation process, as in what is included in essay/ case study section. Does everyone have to give panel + personal interview or it depends on the performance.If these things are discussed earlier in this post or some other please provide me the link... I tried to look for evaluation experience in this thread but its really long thread..
Hi! We have an essay, case study round followed by a Panel Interview round. There is an elimination after this and only students shortlisted from here move for a final interview with the President.

Thanks for your reply..

But if it would be possible for you or any other potential aspirants/convert (who have undergone evaluations before; cannot find any other thread for evaluation discussions), to give additional information regarding case study/essay..

Will the topics for above depend on specialization selected or is it same for all aspirants. Also, are essays on general topic and are there choice in selecting the essay etc....
@punit132 : The case study wouldnt have to be explicitely related to ur field of study, u ll have to handle it with the info dat u have in the table
Hi I have got in through for the May 2013 batch :)
i hope this helps...
its the 2nd round where the real work starts. I won't call it tough but yes it is pretty competitive . I mean they do chuck out some people right after the first interview round.
Essays is easy . you got to sum it all in around 100-150 words . You will get two essays , don't worry topic is easy not very vague topics. For example I got 'A person who has influenced you in your personal or professional life' and the second topic sorry I am not able to recall.!
For the PI round they will ask some question on the basis of your educational background, pretty easy ones not really very technical like since I am an economics graduate they asked me inflation, deflation and the components of GDP. They might ask about your work exp. Why you want to this program. And yeah the first question they will ask you is to give a brief intro about yourself. If you have work exp. Do try to integrate more and more of it when you explain them about yourself.
The case studies are based on the specialization you are choosing. Truly no need at all to prepare for the case study, cause they don't want you to use Mc Kinsey analysis models etc, all they are looking for is what you think should be the answer in general . So there is no need at all to prepare for the Case study analysis. Do ping me if you need any other help..
Best of luck.. ☺

P.S: there are a bunch of interviewers and some of them are realy looking forward to grill the candidates. According to one of the guys it's a nazis camp inside the interview room. So it depends on your luck if you get an easy interviewer like I did or a tough one..
