I am planning to take the GMAT on Sept 15, 2012. I can submit the application for the GMBA course, at the earliest.
When would I be required to make the course fee payment? If before Sept. 15, then in case of any rejection or delay, how much will be refunded? If after Sept. 15, then will I be reqd to pay any interest on the amount and how much?
Please let me know what is the notice period for the SPJAT. Also how soon can we expect next date to appear on the website?
Wrote the SPJAT yesterday. I didn't understand why the negative marking for each wrong answer in the GK section was 2 while other sections had 0.5 and 1. I had a fairly good idea about the answers for at least 11 questions (out of 14) but because of the fear of -2 I attempted only 4 of them. This is something that caught me off-guard.
Hi @[93617:rutty_bharucha],
I didn't mention my application number in the answer sheet. The invigilator told us to write the email address that was used for registering.
On the GMBA website, in the placements section, only 42 companies are listed are recruiters for the latest batch, with very few companies for a specialization like IBWM. Would the website be updated to name all recruiters? Given a specialization like Investment Banking and Wealth Management, I don't see any Investment Banks recruiting from the program. Could you shed some more light on the possible companies and profiles for the IBWM specialization since the information on the website is not helpful.

hi! To decide on the program you need to first study the structure and content of the 2 programs, For GMBA you need to refer http://spjain.org/gmba/gmba_program_architecture.asp and http://spjain.org/gmba/gmba_courses_credits.asp . The structure for the PG programs at SPJain-Mumbai can be found on their website. Also the GMBA is for a duration of one year conducted together at Dubai, Singapore and Sydney.

hi! If you plan to apply with your GMAT score, then your test score should reach us by 31st August 2012 as we will be having our final evaluation round soon after this date. At this stage we recommend that you submit your application for the program first, if your application meets all our other entry parameters you will be advised when the next SPJain aptitude test date is declared.
You will be asked to pay your fees only if you are made an offer post evaluation. For our refund policy pls refer our website on http://spjain.org/gmba/fee_structure.asp
1) I have an 2.3years of Work-Experience in my Family Business,as an Business Development Manager. Can I secure an Admission which is on a Rolling Basis as I will complete 3 years of Experience by March 2013 & then Join the next Batch of GMBA.Is family business work-ex considered by SPJain ?
2) I have scored 57% in my final exams,10th - 76%, 12th - 66%,Will it create any problem in the application?
3) Am I Eligible for Placement Services if i mention it prior during my admission itself ie ( nocommitment to rejoin or initiate an entrepreneurial venture). Do you have any Criteria for students to qualify for career services,Like any Particular Score to be maintained during the course... etc.
Thanks & Regards,
Parth.
Hi! we do consider family business experience while calculating your total exp. but we need the candidate to have obtained a minimum of 3 years work exp. before the start of the program. So you can either apply for our MGB program this year or apply for the GMBA -April/May 2013 intake.
Good academics are important but we look at the overall strength of the application. So academics alone should not be an issue.
We have an option on Placements and Non-placements ie. Sabbatical/family business/ entrepreneurship in the application form. If you have applied and have an offer under Placements, you will be given placement assistance by SPJain at the end of the program. In order that the students take the program and our placement process seriously we have set certain basic conditions including maintaining a certain CGPA but this is purely in the interest of students.

when can we expect the results of spjat which was held on july22 and what clarifications can we expect from you regarding the test score and our status of admission.
Hey rutty, I had applied for the mgb program in like june something and now its almost one and a half month... i have logged in time and again to find the status "your status will be updated shortly" .... what am i to make of it? Does it mean rejection?
As regards the accommodation at Dubai and Singapore, the site says that 3-4 people share a studio apartment. So is it just four beds in a room or are the beds/rooms reasonably separated? Could issues arise w.r.t. personal space/privacy? Any alumni who could offer their views on the matter?
I wanted to know how is the score sent to Australian embassy for visa.
I have an option of sending the score for free before i give the exam.
Hi! You need to submit your TOEFL scores along with other documents while filing your Visa. There is no need to send your scores directly to the embassy.

Hi! In Dubai you either have studio, which is shared by 4 students or 1 bedroom apartments which are shared between 5. You will have your own bed, study desk and chair, bedside table and a cupboard. Accommodation in Singapore is on a sharing basis dormitory style. Students can be housed in single, double, triple or 4 sharing. Those students who wish to go in for a guaranteed single or double sharing room need to pay a premium for it.
