Hi Rutty,

I have applied for the Jan-08 intake on 17th Oct along with me RECO's .

For that when i checked my online status on 1st of Nov, it was showing Waitlisted, however on 5th, i mean yesterday, i got a mail from you calling for 2nd Evaluation stage on 24/25th Nov. But my Online status is still Waitlisted.

So, what could be the reason behind this? Am i really get selected for 2nd round? or something else?

Other Information:

1) applied through last year's CAT and XAT score.
2) already Mailed RECO'S, within 1 week after applying.

We look at the overall profile of a candidate - academics, work ex, extra curriculars, achievements, alongwith the entrance test score. A small part is not "reserved" - only if we find some frehers who meet our criteria do we admit them.
We look at all the above criteria in a fresher and naturally as they do not have the reqd work ex we expect them to be outstanding in the other areas.

thanks for de quick reply.. yeah wen i said double intake i meant intake twice a yr.. so apart from de CAT/GMAT/aptitude test scores, what r de criteria tat u look for??.. n u say a small part of the class reserved for freshers.. wat do u look for in a fresher to maki it to spjain

This is Vas. I am 32, am presently working in a banking MNC as a Operations Team Manager. I have 10 years working experience, 7 of these are in FMCG and the rest are in Ops in Banking.

I am interested in applying for the Yr 2009 intake and plan do my specialization in SMM.

By year 2009 I would be 34. I did read that the average work exp is about 3 yrs. Would the large work exp and relatively high age be an inhibiting factor or scuttle my changes of admission.

Historically, has there been a precedent for some one at my age to be selected ?.

I'm not sure if we would have any more evaluations beynd 24/25 Nov. So pls try and make it.

I am still not comfortable for 24/25 Nov...But if no other option is there i have to come on those Evaluation Dates.
Will Prefer if Dates are changed,else i will come on 24/25.
But in any case please Let me know about my Evaluations Dates ASAP.

That could be an oversight on our part - we have yet to change the status on the website.
You may go ahead and take your time slot for the 24/25 evals if you have recd a call letter.

I have a work experience of 1 year from a reputed MNC.
I have an overall percentage of 70% during my graduation and 88% during my schooling
I also have participated in many National level technical symposiums.
Iam planning to take CAT,XAT and GMAT.
But GMAT is in the month of January and by the time CAT results are out it will be end of DEC. So on what criteria do you shortlist me??

Hello Rutty,

What will be the extra cost for accomodation( spouse) in Singapore i.e from 2nd Jan to 10th June.
For Visa please direct me how to proceed, should I take some consultants help, how much time it usually takes for the Visa.

I believe there are still 9 more days to go for the 15th Nov deadline ( as mentioned on the website ). Is it too late to apply for the upcoming intake ? If i submit an application in the next 1-2 days max, is there a possibility of it being reviewed for the next intake. If not, does this application have any implications on my application for the intake after that.

GMAT : 640 (Q47, V32) / AWA scores awaited.

Work Ex : 2 Years ( as on Dec 2007 ) as a SAP ABAP Consultant.

Education : Completed Bachelor of Engineering - Instrumentation Engineering (May 2005) with a First Class (65 %)
HSC (Higher Secondary School) - Distinction (79%)
SSC (Secondary School ) - Distinction (84%)
Total Education - 10 + 2+ 4 = 16 Years.

What competencies would a candidate have to demonstrate in the evaluation process and what are the components of the process itself.

Well you should have taken the SPJAT in that case as you were very well aware that you wuld be taking GMAT in Jan and the CAT scores owuld be out only in Dec end.

Hi,
We will be accepting applications till the 15th so you can go ahead and apply.
We will not cary fwd any applications to the next intake.
You will have to apply afresh for the June 08 intake and you previous application will not pose as any kind of problem

The evaluations consist of Essay/Case study/ GD/panel Interview and personal interview

The process lasts about 5-6 hrs.
we look at the overall personality of students alongwith their domain knowldge and communication skills

Do the people providing references for me need to post the hard copy or is it possible for them to fill in the refrences online?

By when are the references required to reach the institute?

Would you please let me know how much percentile is required to be trhough with S.P Jain aptitude test... i mean the minimum cut off.. would be of great help if u could let me know as early as possible
