In this, I did [(x – y) (x^2 + y^2)] /[(x + y)(x– y)(x + y)]= 965/1805
=> (x^2 + y^2)/(x + y)(x + y)= 965/1805
So 2xy= 1805-965
xy=420.
but this is wrong. answer is 84. Only if I took ratioof 965/1805 in its smallest form then only I will get answer as 84. So do we always have to take ratio in its smallest form while solving any example?
