GNIOT Institute of Management Studies(GIMS), Greater Noida had organised “Surya Namaskar” for PGDM students on 26th February 2022, Saturday. The programme started with the inaugural ceremony of lamp lightning followed by Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Mayank Pandey (Head PGP) inaugurated the function and welcomed the Yoga Expert Dr. Shivom Acharya. He addressed the gathering by focusing on the crucial role of yoga in the maintenance of health and fitness. The Yoga Expert of the drive Dr. Shivom Acharya has emphasized that National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) and Fit India Movement has taken an initiative of running a project of 750 million Surya Namaskar in 30 states, involving 30,000 institutes and 3 lakh students. He further added that Surya Namaskar is a great heritage of Indian Yogic Science which is in existence for thousands of years. It’s a proven fact that a person who performs 13 Surya Namaskar everyday lives a long and healthy life. In this Yoga drive 108 participants had performed 10 rounds of 13 postures of Surya Namaskar. The students and faculty members have taken pledge to add Surya Namaskar in their regular exercise to maintain health and fitness. It was an interactive session where students analysed and understood the importance of Surya Namaskar.

Agile, The Logistics and SCM Club, GIMS in association with Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) has organized Four Days ’ Skill Augmentation Certification’ on Yellow Belt Six Sigma from 14th March to 17th March’22 for PGDM final year students.
The Yellow Belt Six Sigma certification is particularly useful for developing skills in team leaders and team members wanting to be able to solve localised team-based problems. It’s also not uncommon to find lots of Yellow Belt trained employees working on delivering improvement projects as part of a project team overseen by Green Belt or Black Belt colleagues. The Yellow Belt is trained in basic tools and techniques to enable them to function within an improvement environment and add real value to the improvement efforts.
Six Sigma is a process improvement approach. The focus of Six Sigma is to improve processes to save money for organizations. For this reason, more and more companies use this approach.

Having a day denoted in the year as ’ National Management Day’ is to acknowledge the importance of management profession in all the spheres of human endeavour.
Nutan, The Innovation & Entreprenurship Club, GIMS in association with Institute’s Innovation Council,IIC had organized Management Quiz on the theme- New Age Startups & Entreprenurship. The event began with opening remarks by Prof.Mayank Mumar Pandey, Head PGP where he enlightened students about the origination and importance of National Management Day. He also emphasized on ’ What is expected from a manager’.
In the competition, 15 teams had participated enthusiastically. The winners had been awarded with certificates of appreciation by the faculty members.
Before the quiz was played ,rules of the quiz were announced. The teams had only two members so the judges allotted groups to every 5 groups. The groups were individually invited to the stage, each team in a group were given the buzzer, and then with the help of fair judgment, two teams from each group, were selected on the basis of their score for the round 2 that was quarter finals, in total now only 8 teams were there in the quarter finals, in the quarter final round two teams played against each other to qualify for semifinals. There were only 4 teams left, who played the semifinals. Now it was the turn for finals which got the best two teams from semi-finals. Finally, the competition got its winner.
On this special day, Dr. Ruchi Rayat, Dean-OSW introduced ‘New Age Startups & Entrepreneurship’ as a new specialization to be offered in the PGDM program from the academic year 2022-23. Finally, she expressed thanks to Prof Mudit Tomar & Prof. Gouri Shankar Sharma for organizing a wonderful event.

Ms Vaishavi shared her transformational journey from being a National level athlete to Managing Director of Shoonya Farms. She aligned her life challenges as a woman entrepreneur with woman’s role in the Indian society. She stood out to be a role model for many students.
The day was also marked with splendid performances by PGDM Ist year students to celebrate the progress made towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event recognized the extraordinary acts of women.
The day was celebrated to educate students about relevance of International Women’s Day as it is one of the most important days of the year to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about women’s equality and lobby for accelerated gender parity. Furthermore, International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.Also the seminar intented to share the insights about ’ Women Entrepreneurs: Making a change from Employment to Small and Medium Business Ownership’.

A donation of blood means a few minutes to you, but a lifetime for somebody else A mega blood donation camp was organised on 6th of March at Laxmi Narayan Mandir Noida stadium.The young blood have participated in the camp and showed their Heroism by sharing a token of Life in the campaign.Young Professionals from GNIOT and the the young management professionals from GNIOT Institute of Management Studies, Greater Noida donated blood and participated in the campaign with sheer enthusiasm.A total number of 12 students from GIMS took initiative and helped in saving a life by donating blood.
Faculty coordinators Dr. Ruchi Rayat, Dean OSW and Professor Gauri Shankar from GIMS conducted the campaign and made sure that it campaign must run smoothly. Post donation, food and supplements were provided to the doners to make sure that students don’t get faint after the donation. Lunch has also been provided.
Blood Donation helps to reduce risk of heart attack and cancer. Donation of blood, burns calories & helps in weight loss. Blood donation helps to maintain healthy liver. Prevents Hemochromatosis and helps to maintain iron level.

As per your query, I want to make you clear about the selection process. After screening of your application form, there will be a GIMS Aptitude Test (GAT), which consists of Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Mathematical skills. This test will be optional for those who have scored atleast 80 percentile in MAT/CAT/XAT or GMAT. Lastly, there will be a GDPI round after qualifying to which there will be final selection of the student.
