National Insurance Academy (NIA), was established in 1980 in Pune, jointly by Ministry of Finance and Government of India to nurture the best talent in the industry and prepare them for the insurance industry. The academy offers various courses related to the insurance industry. Among these courses is a 2-year, full-time PGDM course focus on Insurance and Risk Management and it is AICTE approved.

Course Name: PGDM

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum of 50% marks. Students appearing for the final year examination can also apply, subject to declaration of their examination results by June 30, 2022.

  • He/she should have appeared for CAT 2021 or CMAT 2022.

  • Age Criteria Upper age limit is 28 years for General / OBC - NC candidates, and 30 years for SC/ST/DA candidates as on 1 July 2022.

Selection Criteria:

Selection Procedure Selection to PGDM of NIA shall be based on the following criteria:

  • Past academic record
  • Performance in CAT 2021or CMAT 2022
  • Performance in Group Discussion & Personal Interview including WAT

NIA offers 9 scholarships worth Rs. 1 lac each to girl students, meritorious students and economically weaker sections.

Average Package: Rs. 10.3 lakh pa

About PGDM :

Our PGDM Programme (AICTE approved) is 2 years full time programme with a special focus on Insurance and Management. The curriculum has been designed in consultation with the Industry experts, consultants and employers which ensure an up-to-date need based curriculum. The course covers a wide range of key functional areas in Life Insurance, General Insurance, Health Insurance, Pension and Group Insurance, and Actuarial Science. 

  

How different :

The programme is designed to develop managerial excellence based on technical competence, proactive knowledge seeking ability, creative problem-solving approach and visionary approaches that emphasizes social upliftment through individual endeavors. The curriculum has been designed in a manner where equal importance is given to class room learning and self audit through a series of case / project based learning assignments, active participations in Curricular and Para-curricular activities, involvement in day-to-day organizational practices, intensive involvement in off-campus action research projects and exposure to unstructured problems with a view to enabling the students to manage the real life situations efficiently.

Can anybody guide me what sort of documents are required to be attached for work experience . I will be provided with experience certificate. Any other thing is also required? What else proofs do I need to bring? Kindly mention it.

CAT : 71 percentile , NC - OBC with average acads and no work experience ...should i apply ?? if yes , what are the chances of converion.???
