We are delighted to have Mr JAGDISH NARAYAN Chief Information Officer, Reliance Jio Payments Bank for the guest lecture on “Payments Bank: Business Model” for the PGDM batch 2019-2021 at NIBM, Pune. Mr Jagdish who is an expert in Digital Banking & Payments Technology has previously worked for organizations like Citi, Barclays, Bank of America, etc.
Starting with a simple question like "How many of you still visit a bank?" and quoting Bill Gates who once said,” We need banking, but we don’t need banks anymore”, Mr Jagdish gave a glimpse of how future banking would be. His lecture elucidated the business model of payment banks, regulations to be followed and its pros & cons. He shed light on how payments bank addresses the nature of transactions that are ignored by mainstream banking and gave us insight on current technological advancements, data protection and cybersecurity in the banking industry.
