Illustrious IRMA Alumni:
Sanjay Panigrahi, a first-batch IRMAn, describes his IRMA journey..."We belonged to Batch One of IRMA, way back in 1980-82.
IRMA taught us Business Management keeping the rural perspective in view.
We learnt all the tricks of the trade like one did in any other Business Management School of that era.
But most importantly, I believe IRMA imbibed in us, something much beyond “Business Management” education. We learnt to look at issues with empathy and concern for the larger good - inclusiveness rather than Western theories of exclusivity and self-centredness, as was being eulogised then in the name of “professionalism”.
“Think big and act small.” One learnt to look much beyond a transactional picture of a “Customer” and looked at the value one delivers to the community at large, wherever he or she worked.
IRMAns exude a certain “warmth” in their personas by imbibing values and principles of ethics during their years at IRMA which has been the core of IRMA’s education. It is difficult to define or express . It is the “egregor” of IRMA campus and its education. Meet an IRMAn and one will notice the difference irrespective of the sector they are working for."
