My friend is in WL and now we are in confusion on how will WL movement go ahead ?

Was there a waitlist movement last year ? How will it move ? Say 25 general merit seats are vacant and 40 are in WL how will kanpur select 25 without any WL number ?

And will there be further movements also ??

If my friend doesn't get the seat than I shall also drop it..... So please confirm asap

Is there any withdrawal letter available on the IIT Kanpur IME website or do we have to write it on our own and then send it to the IME department?
