Over the last few weeks, as we set out on a journey to chronicle the lesser known facts about IFMR, we were aware that a few weeks or even months wouldn’t be enough to showcase the rich history of the organisation. The journey took us through innumerable pioneering achievements, through pivotal contributions to nation building, and through the bylanes of personal memories. The pages of history are witness to this legacy and IFMR continues to etch new chapters of glory.

Badminton currently is the most popular sport played across India and Krea campus is no exception. The students and faculty have witnessed some quick lunges, dives, jumps, sprints and a complete cardio workout on the campus badminton court. In March 2022 B-Sportive, IFMR GSB’s sports club organised a live badminton tournament, The Battle of Smashes. 30 players eagerly registered for the two-day tournament which featured a men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. On the first day there was the pre-quarter finals and the quarter final matches for all three categories. The second day was the finale, and the matches were played with good sportsmanship. With an encouraging audience comprising of batchmates, seniors and professors Amit Das and Shobha Das, there was loud cheering and victorious roars all through the day. The Battle of the Smashes was not a just about a game of badminton, but an opportunity to bond with the final year students of IFMR GSB who have completed their course and on their way to pursue exciting careers!
