People who have not even appeared for GAAT are shortlisted. What is this happening? Was GAAT just a formality and are you just trying to sell BDA seats? What is actually happening?

Dear Aspirants,
As you all know, GIM uses XAT, CAT, CMAT, and GMAT scores for admissions to PGDM programs. Usually, CMAT results are available in February and can be incorporated for shortlisting for interviews in March. This year CMAT is unusually delayed and there is uncertainty about the date of examination and availability of CMAT results.
Accordingly, the institute has done shortlisting based on scores of XAT, CAT, and GMAT, and interviews are scheduled in March for the shortlisted candidates. The admissions team will wait till the first week of April to get clarity for the time frames of the CMAT exam and results, to take a decision about shortlisting based on CMAT.
In case the timeframes are still not available, or if the schedule announced for CMAT makes incorporating CMAT results infeasible for admissions to the session beginning 14th June 2021, GIM will endeavour to work out a criterion to shortlist candidates based on available data and provide them an opportunity to meet the requirements for admissions through available alternatives.
The team understands the anxiety of aspirants and is working to the best of its potential to help curb this anxiety. Since the cause is beyond control, we are unable to provide a solution at the moment.
