In its report, the International Data Corporation (IDC) suggests that Indian enterprises will have invested $2 billion in big data and analytics by 2021. It further predicts that big data technology and associated services will rise at a CAGR of 14.6% between 2020 and 2025. Consequently, the demand for Data Science professionals will grow by leaps and bounds.

However, the industry did not have enough skilled professionals who could handle huge datasets and bring valuable insights out of them. Goa Institute of Management was one of the first institutes in India to identify this void and, hence, the PGDM - Big Data Analytics program came into existence in 2018.

In this short span of time, the PGDM-BDA programme is already ranked among the ‘Top PG Programmes in Data Science in India’ by Analytics India Magazine courtesy of the techno-managerial curriculum, live projects and internships that assist students of GIM to create an impact in the top analytics firms.
