Is there any specific process for applying to sydenham/ JBIMS with CMAT scores?

Apply with Sep CMAT.
You can also wait for CAT Results as the deadline for KJ-SOM is 15th feb 2013.. !!

Apply and improve your score by around 30 marks in Feb CMAT.
Once you apply, both scores will be taken into consideration.

Can't say it for the the CMAT as they are accepting CMAT Scores for the first time.
Last year, the cut off was around 70%ile through CAT/XAT.. !!

If at all you wish to apply to few colleges with this score, you can consider applying to

Practise as much as you can. As many sample papers as you can. Browse as much material as you can from TIME/CL
Get updated with the current affairs of last 6-8 months.
Read newspapers/magazines regularly for GK Section.

Now, that I'm quite prepared for SNAP & XAT & done with CAT CMAT I'm thinking of getting some 5-6 months of work-ex. I'm a computer engineer. Do you have any temporary job ideas related to companies of my field or any other field that would recruit me? I'm a fresher 2012 batch pass out with first class based in Pune. Personally, I don't think I'll get much of an experience out of an IT company in such a short span. Initially, I was thinking about a temporary lecturer job or even a bpo job. What would you suggest?

At this point of time, I would suggest you to focus on GD/PI Preps if you are already prepared for XAT/SNAP.
If cracking Written Exam is difficult, then cracking GD/PI is 100 times more difficult.
So, rather than going for temporary job (which anyways won't help you much in giving points for work-ex), you should start working hard for the 2nd round.
