@gm25 See bro, CAT punishes you big time for errors, So 50+ is a good score provided u attempt 18+ and get most of them right...You should try to attempt each and every question and get it right..Section is tricky so select your questions carefully and get them right..A raw score of 100~115 should get you a 97.xx %ntile. IMO

@gm25 Don't go in for mocks, etc. as of now. Wait a few months and BUY from IMS / CL. Specially for mocks - I don't think free stuff / projected percentiles would make much sense.

@ravihanda sir i just took a free mock at the ims website(i am a ims student) and i got 50+ in verbal and around 40 in quant what could be my percentile???

i am a general category male engineer . i feel dat we r in d same boat regarding sitting at home n studying . i say so bcoz of d following : did my engineering in 2010 , got selected in on campus TECH M and an off campus TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES (less than 25 got selected out of over 1000 people ) and den got selected in one of the DEFENCES OF INDIA - THE INDIAN AIR FORCE . worked as a trainee flying Pilot for an year and 3 months . left it after 15 months because of some personal problem . gave cat in oct with 2-3 months of preparation and scored 87.6 percentile . i know it is not much but i thought it in dis way - if 2-3 months of preparation can get me here to 87.6 den i can definately score much more dan dat if i get time 2 study . so again made my life's 2nd hardest decision (leaving air force was very hard) and decided 2 stay at home for cat 13 . in the meantime i have rejected offer by 'IMS' to teach english to MCA and an Offer by 'Time' to teach students because dey were asking to teach 4 lectures a day = 8 hours . so don't worry watever decision u take , just be 100% sure about it . n i feel ek aur chance toh banta hai . lets work hard and hope 4 d best !!!

Academics :

10th - 77.4%
12th - 58.6 %
Engineering - currently around the 70-73% mark ,would surely reach 78-80% by the end .

How many from T.I.M.E Bhopal ? Seriously crowded with almost everybody preparing for CAT in the city going there.

Though the classes may have just 40-45 students but still,as many of the batches have the same timing ,its quite crowded outside TIME Bhopal in the evening.

@idontlikecats even my acads r same as urs but mine 10th marks r little bit less...
just try to increase urs scores in CAT to get calls from other premier b-schools of the country specially FMS,MDI,IIT-B,D,NITIE...

Didnt prepare properly for CAT12, got an 82 percentile, got 88 in XAT (similar prep).
Converted a call from SDMIMD, have calls pending from GIM, TAPMI and WE School. Awaiting CMAT Feb results.

My acads are 10th- 88.2, 12th -69.4 and BE (currently final sem) should be between 6 to 6.5 cgpa range.

Is it worth taking a crack at CAT 13 or should i go ahead with my MBA?

Absoutely worth another attempt. IMO- efw of the older IIMs maybe out of reach at your scores, but there are host of other good colleges. Prepare well thsi time, and maybe score a 99+ . All the best :)

Thanks for the reply. I know every year is different but with my acads what are the schools i could be looking at assuming my CAT/XAT goes well next year?

Yeah the faculties are good ! Almost everything is good except their obsession with fees ..fees and fees 😉
