What are my best chances? Can I hope for the new IIMs?
Hey guys. I got QA - 76.7, VA : 92.04, OA - 88.17 in CAT/91.16-10th/77-12th/72.31-Engg./WorkEx-38 months. What all schools should I consider?
Keeping in mind the ROI, should I go for Executive MBA instead?
I am more interested in HR. I got 90.89 in XAT (but DM is at 40). Am seriously confused now whether I should go for an MBA at all!!😠

CAT 2013 by IIM's and Prometric of US a fiasco & Kudos to JEE 2013 by CBSE
In almost one year of 2013, I had experience of admission of my daughter thru JEE conducted by CBSE for B.Tech/B.Arch admissions and CAT 2013 for admission to MBA for my son.
Indian IIM's and Prometric of US conducting CAT have failed miserably in comparison to JEE conducted by CBSE India which is evident seeing the consecutive complaints against CAT over last few years.
To me following are some of the basic capability and administrative differences.
No. of JEE applicants of approximately 1 Million students as compared to CAT for 0.17 Million students.
JEE being conducted in both forms of Pen and Paper as well as computer based whereas CAT in only computer based.
JEE being conducted in 82 cities for P & P in India and 28 cities in India and abroad for CBT deployed over 18 days. CAT deployed over 25 days and at almost 1/3rd no. of centres overall. I have not included JEE advanced being conducted additionally over 82 cities.
CAT enterance fee is Rs. 1610 where as JEE charges Rs. 800(P&P; for Boys), Rs. 400 (P&P; for girls). Rs. 500 (CBT for boys and Rs. 250 CBT for girls).
Candidates appearing in both the exams Paper 1 for Engineering and Paper 2 for B. Arch are charged 1400( boys) & 700( girls) for P&P.; CBT is charged for 1100( for boys) and Rs. 550 (for girls).
Each paper 1 & paper 2 is of 3 hrs duration each whereas CAT is of 140 minutes.
There is not a single wrong question reported in JEE Main and JEE advanced whereas CAT is always known for their ambiguity of questions and their answers.
Standard of questions is much higher (12 th standard) to check knowledge as compared to CAT of 10th standard to check speed.
JEE has got Raw score published and accessible to candidates and candidates can get their OMR sheets from CBSE on payment of Rs. 500 whereas no body knows what IIM's and Prometric do (Highly manipulated and dubious of so called scaled and normalised score which may be to benefit of their own interests.)
CBSE publishes Simple Ranking system at State level and all India level where as CAT's percentile where many of the candidates stand at same percentile.
These only some of the few facts out of many, seriously put IIM's and their partner Prometric's capability in question, to conduct fair testing of candidates.
We people of India should ask Govt. of our own Indigenous system like CBSE for this CAT rather than involving over hyped IIM's by so called intellectual professors and their poorest of administration .

Suddenly for the past 3 days there's a lull here on all the threads.. Why are all the colleges taking so much time in coming out with their shortlists..
I had entered OBC category in my CAT application form. Last week I found out that I am not eligible for one. I have got calls from all the IIMs. With my percentile of 98.3 I have a good chance of getting a call from IIM-I and IIM-K under GM. Will I be eligible for IIM-I and IIM-k under GM once i send them a mail bringing the error to notice?
