The CAT results are out, and as always there are controversies. Only this time, the alleged discrepancies are on a larger scale. Yes, people are frustrated, but not many are. Meh, just around 1-2% odd applicants crying foul? Who cares? The issue will fizzle out, and those crying foul need to get a life. Believe it or not, that's what the junta is thinking about cry-babies.
I have not known many serious CAT aspirants, nor am I a regular at PG. So, I can't verify how much "efforts" the "cry-babies" have put in. I can only speak for myself.
MONEY: Not much, I never joined a coaching insti.
TIME: Countless hours of ..... You all know the grind that a average joe has to go through.
SACRIFICES: Endless. As I saw my %ile increase by over 15 points over the past years, I also saw myself morph from a dude with close-to-a-six-pack to a bespectacled nerdish looking guy with prominent dark circles and an ever increasing waist-line. A 7x2 inch tattoo is the closest reminder of my past self and also the inspiration that one day I will be the 'dude' again.
There are countless other sacrifices I had to make, which are too personal, boring & lengthy for this forum.
Although I can't verify their "efforts", I can bet my life on the fact that most of us have gone through similar or greater pains to try and bell the CAT. And here it stands, mocking at us and our efforts. The future of thousands is at stake, and we have a few adamant men in high ranks to trust. The saddest part is that no one cares. Not even those 96% aspirants who will be vulnerable again next year.
For the record, my scores are OA: 97.11 (QA:95.2, VA:95.3), which leaves me to consider 2 options.
1. I scored less than my expectations (going by the mocks). In which case, I am in the same boat as those who cry foul, and I too demand a re-evaluation.
2. Yipee! I have balanced sectionals. Yay! The normalization stuff couldn't get me. I am lucky, and may be I can get a decent b-school! In which case, I quote, "Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are " - Benjamin Franklin
No matter how I look at it, I think a just cause deserves to be supported. And I can only hope that the rest think the same.
