The customers these days are much pampered and are given a lot of choices when it comes to buying. The increased competition among the companies demands clear differentiation about the products and services. Besides ensuring innovation, establishing healthy communication with the customers is also an important point of consideration. This is the turning point for the companies, as they need the services of sales and marketing professionals. To communicate with the customers, it is important to promote the brand name and products offered by the companies. Marketing main consists of brand promotion, market research as well as advertising. Here are some of the job profiles after MBA in Marketing, which have gained much popularity in the recent years!
1. Brand Manager
It is the most popular job profiles among the students, who are pursuing MBA in Marketing. The brand managers are given the task to increase the share of market, which is already being enjoyed by the company. This job profile demands skills to advertise and promote the products after completely understanding and researching the behavior of customers and other factors, such as the regulatory framework.
A brand manager is given the task to create a brand identity for the services and products offered by the companies in a manner that the brand is distinguishable from the other existing products in the market. Brand managers also make long-term strategy for the products, researching the market, costs and product developments. MBAs graduating from the top ranking business schools usually start as Assistant Brand Managers or Interns.
2. Account Managers/ Executives (Advertising)
Advertising after MBA in marketing is another lucrative option that ensures great future prospects and remunerations. Advertising is meant for those who have the creative flair to come up with new ideas for product development and love to work in a chaotic environment.
Those who start working in the field of advertising usually have to start with the lower salaries, but after gaining exposure with the big names in the industry and working for high profile campaigns, they may be benefited later.
3.Research Manager or Senior Analyst
Marketing research is the life support system for the marketing functions. A number of companies have their own marketing research sections, while some companies tend to outsource the marketing research to other firms that specialize in this field. Marketing research primarily involves a lot of number crunching and interpreting the outcome of that.
Marketing researches involves finding market patterns and understand customer's behaviors. They are responsible to identify the latest market trends and serve the clients in the best possible way! To be a senior analyst or research manager you need to be well equipped with the basic tools, which include Microsoft Excel, Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) and SAS.
You may get lucky to have competitive salaries if you have the right skills needed for the position you are applying!
4. Sales Manager
The dream job for a candidate having an MBA marketing degree is to work as a sales manager in a renowned company, however, many of those who come fresh out of the B-Schools are offered with sales positions. As a sales manager, you will be responsible to meet the clients with a “go to market” strategy; it is up to the customer facing sales professionals to take it from there on. You will be responsible to take care of a particular territory and also supervise a team of sales executives.
Working as a sales manager, you will have to follow the sales targets, which reflect the market conditions as well as the current position of the company in the market!
How to Prepare for Marketing Profiles
It is the most important part, which must be taken care of, before entering the field of marketing.

hey guys, when i filled out my cat form i stupidly put my stream as engineering,going through the registration rules i found that B.tech Biotech students were meant to put sciences instead of engineering! does that means they will over look the fact that i have engineering degree in biotech?

CA Foundation :- Was city 1st but no national rank
IPCC :- 69% but no national rank
Currently in CA Final
Have received many scholarships and have been awarded many medals in co-curriculars
But no work experience.
I have applied to limited colleges which include all IIMs,FMS and S.P jain
However my target is only IIM A/B/C/I/L, S.P Jain
Expecting Percentile to be between 97 to 98, what are my chances to fulfilling my target?
