What is the difference between PGPM, PGDM?
Just heard that work ex will not be that big a criteria for IIMs now. Is it true?

Is it really that good or just a marketing hype? 😲 Is the difference b/w CL CP & Tathagat really that big that merits a fee difference of almost 20,000? 😲 [Though I have heard from some friends that in TG, u REALLY get personal attention which is practically non-existent in CL]. The CAT 2013 window is from 16 Oct to 11 Nov. which comes out to be around 25-26 days, however they say its 20 days window. Are there any days in between these two dates when test wont be held ? whats the anomaly ?

hello ppl. i have a genuine doubt. my aggregate in engineering in the En TC trade from university of pune 2013 passout, is a few points less than 55 i.e around 54.7% ..my 12th cbse is 72.2% and 10th cbse is 90.9%. I realize that the graduation score is pretty low . i want to know till what extent will my grad marks be a negative point when getting into a good b-school. and how else can i cover up for that, if there is ne way.. thanks

@juvenal Hey, I would really not suggest you to quit your job. When i started my MBA in 2012 I had 41 months of work ex and for me also it was getting very tough to manage both the preparation as well as work. I managed. And you could also.
If you cant manage this then you will have trouble when you will actually start doing your MBA. Because MBA life is even more hectic. There will be umpteen things that you will be managing at any point in time. I would say just hang in there. CAT is very unpredictable. Leaving your job wont help, i would say.

@pheonix2013 @djsunny The biggest disadvantage is that companies for summer internship initially hesitate to shortlist people with higher work ex. But once the fresher lot gets placed the field opens up. And also it doesnt mean you cant get into good companies as many good companies come later in the year.
One big advantage is that you see the holistic picture and worry less about marks and all and concentrate more on learnings and all, which is essential.
Am doing PGDHRM (from IMI Delhi), and have a work ex in IT so it is irrelevant(it is not relevant for marketing and finance profiles either) for the finals. But if companies do consider your work ex then you will be eligible for laterals and will get higher package than the freshers.
And yes gone are the days when the packages after MBA used to touch the skies. Economic condition in the country is not conducive to fat pay packages. So dont make a decision solely on the basis of a comparision of your pre MBA and post MBA salaries.
