Some tips from a senior
To all the MBA Aspirants, I would like to share my opinion on the current scenario of MBA Education,
1. We all have been through a time, pre recession [2005 to late 2007] when you heard of MBA grads from IIM ABC getting close to crore packages, a pakka onsite after working for 2 years in any IT company. All this took our expectations to limits we still not able to come back from. That was the time when the economy was booming, supply of talent was less than the demand and hence people used to get good packages , onsites and what not. Come 2009 till date, the economy has not regained to what it was in pre recession period, the supply of talent is far more than the demand, companies have got all the bargaining power, some have not even raised a penny in its package at campuses since past 5 years. But the only thing which has remained throughout with us is the expectations of high packages post MBA or an onsite which is difficult these days. My suggestion is to be realistic whenever you join any B School, I know its difficult to but one has to be more practical. Apart from it the colleges are also suppose to be blamed for raising the expectations of students, declaring 14-15 LPA average when majority of the students on the campus not even getting 10+ LPA. It hurts. So better to have realistic package expectations before joining any institute.
2. People thinking about whether they should join a 400+ batch strength college or not. See that completely depends on you, I have seen few people getting far better placements in such B Schools than many IIM ABC students who are not placed in the Placement Week. Even IIM A had once declared a lowest package of 6 LPA. So its up to your performance in the college, if you are good you will get good else college will not matter much. There are competitions where the winner gets a PPI, if you have it in you, you can prove your worth there and get a good placement, your college not even coming into picture.
3. If you cannot survive among 400 students in your campus then how do you expect to survive in the business environment where the competition is even fiercer.
4. Short Listing criteria of companies is said to be never known to anybody, but till what I have observed is, its your 10th, 12th and grad score which plays an important role in determining how many companies you will get a chance to sit in. This is actually true for summers at least.
5. Ultimately as the BIG people say, do what you like to do, don't run after money, you can easily make money with time. Better get a desired profile with low package then a higher pay with not so exciting work according to you. Think that you will be working for the next 35 years and not just aim to get an RoI >= 1 right away.

Can anyone please tell me what all things has to be done for getting admission via Non Creamy OBC quota?I mean what is the income limit for Non creamy OBC quota and what all certificates are to be shown at the time of interview?And also the certificates is needed to be shown only during the interview, right?Please let me know if I am wrong.

99.8+ percentile, I've never ever in my life got near to 80%
IM A BIG LOOSER now, So far 72% in X, 68% in XII, could make a 70% in UG. (no exp)
So far it is the worst profile ;( , Im in first year right now, i've lot of time that is why iam asking this.
Do I even have the slightest chance to get in IIMs? I need that tag. I love competition. 😁
BUT as of now with a BCA degree and a bad academic record I feel like a looser who can't crack CAT
While answering questions under RC's, I am not understanding to what depth should i think..only search for answers in the RC or to think outside the scope of the passage ! please help in answering them accurately.
hii guys,i appeared for CAT in 2012 but unfortunately could not make it to IIMs because of my very less percentile, but somehow got admission in FMS-BHU,this year i am again preparing for CAT 2013 as i cant see my IIM dream ending like this, but right now i am really in a confusing state,my profile is as follows

Hi,I want to enroll for TIME AIMCAT'13. I've a 95 percentile score from last year's CAT. I wish to avail the special price for the same but, I am not able to figure out how to do that. The enrollment page gives only two options, basic and enhanced. I seem to be pretty clueless about how to avail the special price. People who have done it before, please help me out. Thank you.
