This was the reply when I asked for details about buffercalls, composite score cutoffs etc, this 0 movement is getting too much, atleast confirm whether you provide buffers similiar to last year or in too much excess, i cant hold this anxiety anymore
General WL 765. Why is there no movement in waitlist guys ? Any idea ? Is there any chance of my selection ?
So now everyone is focused on call letters, waitlist movements, anxiously worrying whether will get a call or not, what is the movement here and there, creating polls, taking help... forgetting everything that we have been doing almost a month before, when the CAP results came out (May 22), which is "Comparison" (something that is in our hands and time) through analyzing & researching placement reports, summer placements, median, highest, top 25/50, quality of companies, location, campus Infra, and so on...!! I remember some great accounts posted the numbers (including me :P) based on the research/evaluation they did, and made conclusions accordingly.
But looks like nowadays everyone is looking for "External Validation" (nothing wrong in that, even I do that :P) through polls and not doing the research, creating their own preferred parameters and may be post that research here for comments.
So, moral of the story - Dear Adcom,
1. Where is the final placement report, it's almost a month now? From where should we get insights about what has happened? Can you please once again take the issue to the concerned person and give us a timeline? What kind of planning of the institute is this where the registration is about to start and we dont even have the reports. Or just let us know the email ID of the person related, we will email them directly and ask.
2. Can you also please tell us why there are no placement statistics and numbers given in the summer placement reports when every other IIM is sharing their numbers? And some private blogs like this and more- https://www.prnewswire.com/in/news-releases/iim-udaipur-completes-summer-placements-average-stipend-increases-by-37--823543914.html have the numbers. Should we trust the above resources when the institute itself is not presenting the numbers.
In relation to my previous post on - research, external validation, and prioritized parameters. Here's a very naive evaluation I did (as I'm confused though I have an inclination and gut feeling for one of the below college). Basis was list of positives and negatives with some kind of ratings.

With Nil movement in the last two waitlists, could anyone please comment on my chances of conversion? WL403 general - WL moved by 396 previously, so effectively I'm #7 in the list.
Admin, we are really disappointed with wl movements this year. We want the process of selection to be transparent and visible. Could you pls throw some light on number of buffer calls in each category or is there some other reason for frozen seats? Please give us an official reply.
