To all the Aspirants.... Guys, I completely and fully understand what you guys are going through. Rewind a few years back and I was in the same situation, same doubts, same confusion, which one is better clg.. which one shall I opt for. I completely understand that this is one decision which will stay with you forever and you don't want to feel later "I should have gone for the other one" Once a lifetime opportunity and once a lifetime decision, who would want to take risk with it and we all ( including me) fall back to these platforms in hopes of guidance. We hope that someone will help with yhe turmoil going inside, will help in making an informed decision. This is the HUGE MiSTAKE that we all make. And we very well realize that these platforms are confusing you further than helping you in any way. But let me guide you in right direction which I was looking for and the right way to choose. First and foremost, This is YOUR DECISION and NO ONE CAN TAKE IT FOR YOU. YOU HAVE TO OWN IT. second, platforms like pagalguy, quora, reddit, fb are not the right places to make your decision. These platforms allow just anyone to post anything. I just made this a/c woth [email protected] and it works. You can understand the credibility of these platforms from this itself. I can post anything and there is no way to verify it. Some of you might have workex...some might be fresher graduate...some might know this some may find it helpful. But here is some right way to research information. Please understand, if you are opting for MBA, ability to RESEARCH is crucial. And you will develop it further as you study. But here is something for now. First : get yourself a grip..think logically....be calm.. don't rush thru Second : Don't go by things you see on this platform. Go through clg website...go through faculty profile...This matters a lot, a lot of corporate competition are done under guidance of professors. So if someone says that somebody got a job thru corporate competition, understand that clg infrastructure ( access to research reports, databases) and faculty are a great factor. And the faculties are what will be giving you all the knowledge you want. Third: Now the most important factor PLACEMENTS. Almost all of us are mostly in for MBA for this. And knowledge, skills and learning takes a back seat in face of jobs. And i agree with it to some extent...i say some extent because you will start valuing other aspects once you join. For placements, go through placement reports....go through the companies listed...go through the roles ..go through the figures. Now, these are inflated and no way for you to verify. But there is and here is how you can 1. Cross verify and compare placement reports of different clgs and they are mostly same. See for some inconsistency if you find 2. LinkedIn, this is your goto platform for research not pagal guy. Look for clg alums, see their profiles, see their jobs, see their roles. You can easily filter by education. No one lies there 😄 3. Take those roles, look for avg package for that role in market. Look for avg package for that role in that company. You can do these things on Glassdoor website best. And monster and naukri.com may help. 4. Ping some of the alums, tell them your honest issues and almost all of them will give you an honest reply. Needless to say, avoid the media and pr team guys😄 5. Go through clg LinkedIn page, you will find all the honest activities by clg there. Since corporate monitors LinkedIn, it will give you the truest picture possible and not this shit site. Be research driven, be curious, don't believe good and bad things by anyone. Carry your own research, make your own decision and own till end. Reach out to ppl, reach out to as many as you want to take different opinions, till you are satisfied.
