@2013IsMine Firstly as far as i know the report about the PO jobs is absolutely not true. However there is a bit of a cloud over placements in banking sector in the future, cuz there has been some sort of supreme court ruling or something that has barred Public Sector Banks from visiting private colleges like NM in the future for recruitment. I can tell you PSU's are in fact quite good places to work at.
Talking about CM, the course structure is quite good, the first year is almost same as Core barring a few different subjects like laws related to securities market regulations and subjects related to study of Financial Institutions etc. The second year of course has subjects like Mergers and Acquisitions, Technical and Fundamental Ananlysis etc. The Second year subjects are a real value addition.
Now coming to Investment Banking, firstly i hope you are clear about the role of an investment banker, if you're not then il advise you to please first go and read on it cuz IB has become a very fashionable word whereas very few ppl know the gist of their work.
IB is essentially divided into three parts - front office, middle office and back office.
There are extremely few Front Office Jobs in India and recruitment for these jobs only happens at colleges like IIM or B or C.
IB roles in colleges like NM etc is usually the back office or operations. So if you're in NM you can . probably give a shot at getting ops in firms like JPMC, Barclays etc. About the career part, well that is a long term thing but yes if you're in CM then you can probably make a good base, but this is also related to how seriously you take course in studies, just because you're in CM is not really enough to make a career in IB. Alot of ppl actually lose interest in Financial Markets and Finance in general once they come into CM all because of uninformed choices that they make.
GUYS along with score card, where to get this call letter from???
i just called the admission cell...they said it will take around 45 mins to access the results again! uffff! relaxed! cheers guyz

@aimcattime Marketing most definitely when you talk about placements, Faculty etc are more or less equally good.
@shubhamchandra i have read on last year forums that only 10th and 12th percentage was considered in academics but not graduation. is it the same this year???
