@ggouthamm that's true mate ! In any case hoping for a reduction in cut offs :)
@risijain @ggouthamm Ya d intake was arnd 340 last year.. i confirmed dat frm a senior.. it was bcoz of d course 'actuarial sciences' getting scrapped frm last yr onwards.. so d seats were shifted to mba core.. so der isnt a big increase in d intake dis year...
@siddharthg1 said:Lots of confusion about intake and all... I pray to god that I get selected in first shot this time... no waitlist - it only creates more tension. Bass ab direct selection chahiye.
Yeah man.. to be placed in the waitlist that too between 650 - 700 will be the ultimate torture.
@manoj_msr Yes, u r absolutely ryt... anything under 650 is a sure convert.. 650-700 is a tricky situation..
@nishantrv said:How do we calculate the composite score?
well u cannot do that it takes in several parameters ur NMAT score, gdpi, academics and work ex NMAT score has 70% weightage

let us hope they pull it down, and dont cut us off.
Lord Jesus, i don't want no waitlist.

Suppose you have score 210 in nmat so that is equated to 70
so ur score in NMAT would be 210/360 x70 =40.83
the rest 30 is divided into 7.5 PI+ 7.5+GD+5 work ex+10 acads

so wat ws the cutoff last year out of 100?
@nishantrv @swagat.sid actually i dont think d total score is out of 100.. since d cutoff was arnd 54 last yr.. dey hv only mentioned d % breakup.. dat doesnt mean d total score is out of 100..
i think its out of 80 or 85...
i think its out of 80 or 85...
@swagat.sid so if a guy gets 210, out of 70 his nmat equivalent weightage is 210/360=40.833
and if a guy gets 240 his equivalent nmat score will be 220/360=42.778....that means a diff of less than 2 marks, which could easily be covered in the cd,pi,acads, workex part...den why do people keep saying ki ppl with 220+ are almost certain to convert and guys with score in the vicinity of 210 are less likely to do so??
@akshaymattu because in this 2 mark gap there are 2400 students approx. so even few points make a huge difference. but i dont agree that after this point there is a sure convert . i know a senior at score of 210 and i saw last year thread of someone getting 256 being rejected. So just wait for a day more . .All the best

Trust me buddy, even i was led to believe so , going by common discussions..but a look at last year's thread made me realise that such a notion is utter bullshit and ramblings of the less-informed lot .. people with high scores have been rejected and people with just about borderline scores have made past the finish line.. it is extremely difficult to predict a set pattern, let aside predict accurately..
@punjabimundaa yes we can.
And this reply is coming very late . Apologies, I lost internet connectivity for a couple of days .

this is because it happens u will find guys with high scores being rejected and borderline scores converting but such instances are very few due to high weightage to NMAT score so a person with a borderline score has to perform quite well in the gd pi to ensure a convert while a high score person with an average gd pi have good chances to convert,he will be rejected only if he has done some blunder in the gd pi process or he has no work exp or he scored very low on academics

and dude it is no bullshit notion fact remains that nmat scores are given 70% weightage though it means that theres is a difference of only 2 marks in the composite score but that cannot be compensated very easily u have to perform quite good in the cd pi anyways all the best i hope you get through :)
