CFA Level 1 Exam: Almost 20 Days to go! Preparation Tips for Candidates..!!

The final days before any exam are crucial. The CFA Level 1 Exam is on June 7, 2014. You want to make most of the time that's left and yet won't like to do something really silly at this juncture. So, here are some tips for the last month of CFA preparation :

It's important to make sure that you don't stress yourself out before the D-day. Whatever you're do between now and the exam in June- be it work, study, relaxation or whatever constitutes your schedule, just try not to overdo any and keep things in harmonious concord.

If you're feel you are a bit lagging in your study schedule ( most of us do), don't get yourself over anxious. Re-prioritize things, workout an updated plan and follow it. Make a realistic commitment to study/revise and follow it strictly.

Divide your sessions into short periods of time. Take little rest after each study lesson.

It's good to get yourself acquainted with as many sample/mock questions as possible. You can try our free sample questions here.

Review the main concepts every day and again after every week. This will help you to record information as a long term memory.

So pull yourself together and get ready for the challenge.

Good Luck..!!

Has anyone downloaded the CFA mock papers for June 2014 Level 1 from the website??...The liink doesnt work for me...

Most of the students while selecting a management course most of the students are in a impasse over whether to choose a PGDM or MBA? The solution to the quandary lies in acknowledging one's credentials. If one has an option of grabbing a PGDM admission in aTop PGDM College in Delhi and an MBA from not-so-reputed school, then choose former as PGDM from a Top among PGDM Colleges in Delhi scores above than an MBA college admission in a less reputed school. In order to choose between MBA and PGDM, one needs to know the difference between the two. The following discussion will further help in understanding the difference between the PGDM and MBA and will further help the aspirants in making the right choice. Although there are many AICTE approved Management Schools who are offering PGDM course equivalent to MBA degree.

Earlier, a PGDM course was not recognized for higher studies like Ph.D that require a degree as a pre-requisite. But now PGDM course certificates of some top Colleges in Delhi, like JIMS are also being considered equivalent to MBA for higher studies. The students get admission in MBA mainly through the respective State Government's Joint Entrance Examination.

The PGDM programmes are offered to students through the CAT/XAT/MAT /CMAT/GMAT entrance examinations. The curriculum of the PGDM and MBA degrees are not so variable as the MBA degree is examination oriented and concentrates on theoretical aspects of management whereas the PGDM is industry-oriented and mainly focuses on building soft skills. While an MBA curriculum is designed by a university, it essentially follows the university guidelines and changing this curriculum is a very slow and rigid process where as a PGDM course gives freedom to the institute to design its own curriculum. This is sometimes beneficial to the students because institutes can change the curriculum as per the industry requirements and changing business environment. At the end what one learns from a college matters and its application that helps one succeed.
