that guy there said thwt the tentative dates for Banglaore are 7-th to 10th feb... not confirmed tho.... he was sounding sure of the dates... thats a big relief for me... as my university exams end on the 3rd of feb...

maybe urs is also underway...

Come to MDI (or any good B school for that matter) & u'll face these surprises too often than you can think of!!! (and yes there will be nobody to help u - for a simple excuse - u are future managers & probable CEOs...) !!
So dude... get down to prepare as soon as possible!!!

but can u tell me...how recent is usually the article...i mean is it enough if i go through the last two months ET,TOI and other newspapers...i know u cannnot be sure,but still...just an idea....

Last time the article which we received was just one day old!!! but then you never know!!! MDI can always come out with new techniques of GD (so even it is not sure that whether you all will get any clipping or something else.... surprises again!!!)
Neways, as far as knowledge part is concerned, last year generally engineers received articles regarding economy, tax etc, while people with commerce background were given topics related to sciences etc!!! So i guess u need to know more of whats happening around you & not just in relation to your field of interest!!
As far as interviews are concerned, freshers should be ready to get grilled on their acads as well (apart for being questioned to dwell upon the soft skills)!!
People with work ex, though have an overall advantage, have a slight disadvantage as they can be grilled regarding anything concerning their work ex or also their past acads (generally if your work ex is less that say 2 years)!!
Probably the best strategy to prepare for GD/PI @ MDI will be to be through with major issues (pertaining to any industry) in recent past, and not just which currently appear in newspapers!! Go thru economic times (preferably - else u can use Business Standard etc) regularly for sure !!!
For interviews, brush up some major subjects (u dont need to learn everything again - as in if your fundas are clear then there's no problem in any case)!!! Do not try to mislead the Profs. taking your interview - coz when you'll come to know how much your face expressions/ tone & body language reveal about the lies during interview - it will be too late!! I am not asking to be overly truthful, but trying not to reveal a weak point and telling a lie to hide a weak point are two different things & thus do not resort to the second one!!
I hope this long mail can be of some use!!! Hope to meet some of you at campus (during interviews and also as my juniors)

Can those who have got their call letters plz clarify if there are any Reco letters that need to be filled up for the GD/PI. If there are letters to be filled up, by when are we supposed to submit them? I have not yet received my call letter here in chennai for the pgpm course. In case there are reco letters I need to go to my campus in Pilani to get them filled, I need to buy tickets and plan u know..
BTW r there any chennai guys who have already received their call letters ?
