LPU offers a B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering that seamlessly integrates fundamental scientific principles with practical technological applications. This program places a strong emphasis on hands-on experience through laboratory work and projects, enabling students to develop problem-solving skills that align with industry requirements, particularly in the areas of Design, Manufacturing, Thermal Engineering, and more.
To be eligible for this program, candidates are required to have a qualifying exam result with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics, and English) or an equivalent qualification, subject to successful qualification in LPUNEST.
The primary goal of the course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to effectively design and communicate solutions using insights gained from basic mechanical engineering, fundamental sciences, mathematics, and computational tools. Students should have the ability to apply the theories of Design of Machine Elements to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technologies. They are expected to possess the capability to construct efficient energy conversion systems through a solid understanding of concepts like Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Mechanics.
Moreover, students are encouraged to develop the capacity to propose cost-effective, optimized solutions by utilizing simulated environments that employ tools like Computer-Aided Design, Computer-Aided Manufacturing, and Computer-Aided Engineering.
LPU’s B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering aims to produce graduates who are well-prepared to address the complex challenges of the field, applying their theoretical knowledge in practical ways and leveraging modern technologies to propose efficient and cost-effective solutions.
