Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management organised its annual management, cultural and sports fest on the 9th and 10th of February 2019, TATVA with the theme Solace-An escape to tranquillity. The event was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Anil Shatri, Chairman Lbsim, Dr. D. K. Srivastava, Director, LBSIM, Dr. GL Sharma , Corporate Relations Head, Dr. Anuj Verma, Faculty Advisor, Management Grid, Dr. Geetanjali Sahi, Faculty advisor, IT Grid, Mr. Saurabh Maloo and Mr. Mohit Shekhawat, President of Management Grid and IT Grid respectively. This was followed by the thoughts of encouragement and expectations from the event by the Chief Guest Mr. Vinod Sharma, Political Editor, Hindustan Times who shared his thoughts and memories of Shastriji and expectations for today's youth commending the theme and performances by the cultural clubs on 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan'. Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management observed a two-minute silence as a tribute to those martyred in the Pulwama Attack. The gathering of the various faculty members, the staff members, and the students was addressed by a condolence speech from Dr. D.K. Srivastava, Director, LBSIM. It was followed by a Candlelight March wherein everyone from the LBSIM family came together with candles in their hands, paying a mark of remembrance to the lost lives who sacrificed themselves for the whole nation. Innotech refers to innovation plus technology. The inaugural address was given by Prof. Amita Dev (Pro Vice-Chancellor at IGDTUW Delhi) who highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaboration. She also stated that education incorporating innovation is the future. India, with the highest number of Facebook users that is 299 million, still lacks innovation whereas countries like Switzerland & Norway invest heavily in their innovations. The keynote address was given by Mr. Sudhir Mehani ( Chief Digital Officer at Marzoli) who said that any Industry that isn't technology-ready would be soon driven out of the system. Technology has become a front-end task. General Deependra Singh Hooda, Former General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command as the honourable Chief Guest. The event commenced with some brilliant performances showcased by Mantra, the Musical Society of LBSIM to pay the tribute to all the martyrs. Next to this, was the display of the life journey of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji with an aim to inculcate his values into the future leaders of the world. The Founder’s Day Programme progressed further with the lighting of the lamp by the honourable Chief Guest Lt. Gen.
