Subject : Need help..

Hi All,

I am Naveli with 6 years of experience in Business Analyst type role in IT company. I have done B.E. in E&TC; from a very good college in Pune University.. I love maths and my logical analysis is good..

I am stuck up badly in my current profile which does not give me much in return to my efforts. So I have decided to take a chance in MBA. Which will take my career and my low confidence to a better level.

Currently I am on Sabbatical leave from June 1st with my husband at USA. And I want to utilise this time in preparing for MBA exam majorly for CAT , SNAP, CET.. Preferebly CET/SNAP.. coz i have location constraint.. and I can not study anywhere else except Pune..

But I am not confident friends.. I am not sure if doing MBA is the right decision or not.. I dont think executive MBA will help.. I have heard it should be done after 8-9 yrs of exp plus it is very expensive compared to PGDM.
Friends please help me boost my confidence in myself..

For QA-
Start with the toughest of topics-numbers,geometry,permutations and combinations,probability.You will need some time to get acquainted with these chapters.Don't use any MBA centric book for these;go for 11th/12th standard Maths books.For numbers,start with TotalGadha e-book.

For DILR-
learn how to play with numbers faster.Squares,cubes,cube roots,division,multiplication- learn the tricks to do them faster.For logical reasoning,start your preparation with solving some puzzles.

For VA-
For the next two months,do nothing but read and read more.While reading,do take note of the words you encounter and the grammar used.And note them down.Do nothing else for VA.


Only after two months,start MBA specific preparation.As for the amount of time devotion,allot as many hours as you can since you don't have the pressure now.

I'm a struck up b.tech student(electronics stream):banghead: and least(or not at all) interestd in d electronic gadgets unlike my other frnz........looking up fr a future in management sector......wanna pursue FPM (so started preparin fr CAT)......since hv a passion for teachin nd crazy about studyin...:biggrin:....nd wanna se myslf as a prof. in future.
I'm lookin fr ny kind f info abt FPM right frm cut-off to the interview nd all d pros n cons f pursuing d program...Please help.....

start reading news paper like hindu regularly,increase your vocab,......

since enough time is left for preparation ,join any good insti for CAT,so that it may be helpful in a proper and systematoc guidance which is very important for cracking CAT...

Hello... This is vishnu and am new to PagalGuy inspite of having an account for one year... !
I've completed my B.E. and waiting for results. Am aiming for IIMs....! Ok I know Iam just another person and this is just another post in the sea of threads. But I have no idea where to start preparation for CAT, neither do I have any materials. And am not aware of what quants and such words means...! And am not in a state to attend any classroom courses. I know you think am helpless, and thats why Iam here for. Only thing I have is the strong will to enter into IIMs and time(ya its very less, but I have hope) to prepare for CAT 12. Sorry if Iam rude, but I want to make it clear that Iam not here for advices. I need u guys to direct me in the right path to acheive my goal and not discourage me. Sorry again. As I dont have much time, it would be very helpful if I get straight away links or methods for preparation, materials etc., rather than suggestions on where to search them, so and so, bcoz Iam not even sure how this site works and which resources wud be enough and reilable. Thank you...

I shouldn't be posting this because neither you need advise nor I am someone to give you that. Still my 2 cents.

Get hold of Arun Sharma books (all three of them). Join 1/2 coaching classes for their mocks only. Study hard and finish all the sections in the books. Analyse the exam papers you appear carefully, and learn from them. Divide the time left for cat into 3-4 blocks and see how much you are improving after every time block.
