Hi Meghna I don't want to give you any false hope and want you to come to reality.See in IIMs it's really difficult specially old ones,in fact this year i also got selected by IIMK for first round as cutoff was 85 %ile only bt after that they had asked for 10,12 and graduation percentage and many guys even with 90 in 10 and 12 couldn't clear it. So I would advice you to target FMS ,XLRI,MDI these are also really good colleges and don't give much emphasis on academics.If you are engineer you can also try IITs and NITIE.they are also really good
fms demands 60 % in gradutn n same is d case in IITs :'( ... i'll put in my best to crack CAT n jst hope dat i get a decent college.
Ya I realized it as soon as i had posted the above comment. No issues still you can go for other colleges like IMT G ,MDI .Hope for the best n all the best............

Well.., I wud lyk to bring to your kind notice that..IIMs have criterion of calculating the marks. Max/ highest weight-age is of Score of CAT entrance test: which means if you'll hit the bulls eye with very high %tile. then you are definately getting call from all top IIMs(can't say abt Bangalore and shillong (as this tym these , didn't call some 100 percentilers) rest of all IIM give call.) , weightage of other marks comes down in the line.
Once you get the call from IIMs then everything depends on you and only you(essay writing /extempore/GD/PI etc, You should be able to justify why did you get less marks). If you are very dynamic then IIMs will never try to lose you.
Off course FMS dominates many IIMs ..same the XLRI and MDI. If you prep well U'll clear all and if not then ..
You can't change the past but future is in hands. Don't worry.

Hi, I am Sayantan, currently pursuing Electrical Engineering at Jadavpur University, Kolkata and am in my final year. What are the chances of getting into IIMs just after graduation? And can you please clarify whether from CAT 2012 onwards the old IIMs shall not call freshers(students with no work experience/fresh out of college) for GD/PI? It's just that this rumour is going around. I want to know whether there is any basis to this rumour.
