hi, thank you for this thread, i've always been visiting and observing the doubts puys ask, i think its time i clear my doubts too :D...puys i face problem in solving basic time and work problems, can anyone suggest a comfortable approach.. i am posting a question for instance..

4men and 3 women finish a job in 6 days, and 5 men and 7 women can do the same job in 4 days. How long will 1 man and 1 woman take to do the work?

a. 22(2/7)days b. 25(1/2)days c. 5(1/7)days d. 12(7/22)days.

I am Mayank, currently a 3rd year Undergraduate in IT. I have just started management entrance prep and want to hit the nail square on the head in the first attempt itself.
I am on PG because can provide me a platform to interact with people who share the same aspirations as me.
Specifically looking for the do's and do not's while preparing for management entrance tests and also resources to improve speed and accuracy in all sections.
I want to make a career in the field of advertising/marketing and want to pursue my MBA from a good institute.

i m Suresh Mahawar.
By education i m an engineer from IIT Bombay (Metallurgical engg. and material sc.)

i started my career with Steel Authority of india in 2009 and aftr an year i switched to Teaching field and currently i am working as Physics faculty in an institute in Mumbai.

as an interest of further studies now i have started focusing on MBA preparation.

Hi All,

This is Raj and I am from Chennai.. I did my MA in Economics and have 7+ years of experience in the IT industry...

I did give CAT a couple of times but later felt that this was the toughest and not my cup of tea..

I am looking for an industry shift to Finance, preferably Equity Research and hence would like to take up GMAT...

I am not competing for any of the US B-Schools and am targeting a 1-year MBA from ISB instead.

As I am working, I need ample time for my preparation and would request you to share the resources needed for preparing for GMAT... on my own..

I have done BE computers 2011 passout.
Currently i am into support. I want to do MBA in systems. But will my experience in support be considered?
Or will i have to go for MBA in operations?

Im K S Krishna, completed my graduation in engineering from Guru Nanak Engineering College. Im currntly working with Cargill India Pvt. Ltd. as an Executive, Production. Im aiming at ISB 2014 Class. presently preparing for GMAT. that's all folks.......

MBA in operations wouldn't help u much. u should think about eithr finance or systems or marketing...

Any full time work ex is counted as valid work ex for applying to B-Schools. This is irrespective of domain you have worked for.

Companies during placements will give more weightage to your work ex if it is relevant to their field. However, if your work ex is not relevant to the domain of company, then sightly lesser weightage will be given to it.

dear preethi
any full time experience would be considered by the B school. moreover u have a bachelors in computr scinc enginerin, that is a big asset to u if u wanna pursue MBA in systems. operations manaement won't work for u, bcause it has much of industrial stuff like production management, maintenance management, man pwer organization, i feel it wouldn't help u out. better u proceed with ur application for MBA in systems.
